The UK's bestselling physical games usually don't move much beyond the usual suspects, but this year's steady stream of big new releases has seen it jump around a fair bit. The latest chart is a good example, which sees another Nintendo exclusive debut at number one with Pikmin 4, while EA has made an impact with The Sims 4: Horse Ranch in third place. It's rare to see a PC game in the physical games charts, so it seems this is a much sought after expansion.
Most of the games you'd expect to be higher are lower down. FIFA 23 remains steady in second place, but Hogwarts Legacy is in sixth and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is in seventh. Elden Ring is actually up one position into number nine, and Diablo 4 rounds out the top 10, having jumped up from 13th. As more new releases head our way in August and beyond, we expect the UK's physical chart to remain unusually active.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.

At the very least, we aren't seeing GTA V for a good while.
chaos of the pitch
I mean games for everyone, especially ones thought for kids are usually bought physical for them.
Thumbnail reminds of Pro Evo 6 when you could play as a penguin or a dinosaur
Pikmin is absolutely no surprise. Unbridled fun with great reviews, plus Switch users love physical. Elden Ring must be climbing in anticipation of Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
@Mitsui you knew Wild horses wouldn't drag them away.
Pikmin 4 is a delightful little game, from what I've played of it. Glad to see it debuting high.
@Total_Weirdo it’s the worst best console of all time! .
Not much competition if Sims 4 DLC is placing in the charts, but Pikmin deserves all the success it can get.
@Total_Weirdo
affordability
master class in design
best exclusives (by an extremely large margin)
The most interesting thing about the Switch now is how they follow up this monster. I'd go for Sony's jugular and release the specs the same week as Sony's next big screw up. I'm thinking that handheld disaster or maybe the Pro if the Neo Switch is relatively cheap ($350-400 or less).
Street Fighter 6 re-enterted the charts at #14. Kinda surprising. I guess a sale occured.
and again what is the point in a physical only sales chart?
its pointless reporting on when over half the sales data for games is missing
@trev666 It gives some indication of which games bombed and which games are a huge hit or who is a flash in the pan or who is doing middling performance. For example - Zelda, Mario Kart, Minecraft, GTA indicate that they are evergreens likely years in the top 10 - you can assume they are also doing monster digital numbers. Final Fantasy Sixteen now bounced to #16 (per nintendolife) indicates it is not an evergreen. Physical or digital it doesn't matter. Trends.
Pikmin isn't surprising, although I hadn't even heard of a fourth game. It's a fantastic franchise. The first one is still mightily nostalgic to me, perhaps even more so than Crash.
Pikmin 4 is one of the best games I’ve played all year so I’m glad it’s selling well.
Glad to see 'Pikmin 4' doing well. I've been a fan of the series since I first played it about 20yrs ago on Gamecube.
Both 'Pikmin 3' & 'Pikmin 4' have demos, the new game's demo took me about 5hrs. Granted, I was taking my time with it, but its a healthy intro and the save carries over into the game.
As for the game itself, I'm currently about 42hrs in and would estimate I'm about 4/5 of the way through, so this is easily the longest of the 4 mainline series games. I'm no speed runner though, I am finding all the items, so I imagine focusing just on the story critical parts & characters could see that figure reduced dramatically. 'How long to beat' has it at 34hrs for 'completionist', but with it being out 5 days, I imagine that figure will change as more add to the average.
