There's no getting around it: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is killing it in the UK. Sales of the physical edition have kept it at the top of the chart since its launch โ the only exception being the week in which Final Fantasy 16 launched. Square Enix's action RPG has been doing well, but it's now moved down to number four while Nintendo's exclusive stays in first.
FIFA 23 takes a run at it, though, moving up from sixth to second. Hogwarts Legacy is also up from eighth to fifth, while God of War Ragnarok shifts down two places to number six. Making a return to the top 10 are Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in seventh and Diablo 4 in ninth.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 8th July, 2023
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Final Fantasy 16
- Hogwarts Legacy
- God of War Ragnarok
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
- Diablo 4

FFXVI still going strong. Love to see it.
And what about them legs of Kratos. God of War Ragnarok is super strong. Star Wars Jedi Survivor also is still up there is so nice.
This year is amazing
@KaijuKaiser Fair points.
It's a good time to be a fan of either franchise or both.
My only issue is I don't have enough hours in the day to give both games the attention they deserve.
Yesterday I played some TotK and then some FF16 ๐ฑ not logging solid gaming hours, but a bit of exploration and making my way slowly to Gerudo, and some story, travel and field bosses in FF16. Both deserve to be up there.
In the UK digital top 10 games in your country (ps app) there's the usual GTA, FIFA, CoD, the free games, but also FF16, Hogwarts and Diablo 4 (no GoW, as it's still full price, so people obviously buying that in physical instead for that reason) also, the top 10 contains 12 games haha.
Maybe you could include the Digital Top Ten in your country in these articles as it offers a little insight into games that are still being downloaded, whether it's bought or free.

Why do you need to get around it?
@simonj It's just an expression...
TotK really is killing it. I'm over a 100 hours in now and i've barely touched the story due to how much content the game has and how much fun just messing around with the games systems is.
@Shepherd_Tallon Yep, that's the biggest problem right now - time.
I've both and prefer ff16. Totk is just like the last one.
TotK is a brilliant game, fully deserves its massive success
@JAMes-BroWWWn lol it just came out like a couple weeks ago,itโs not going to fall off the charts immediately.
@Ravix
I think that, with Hogwarts being a demo, and the basketball game being on plus, these arenโt counted. Hence there being 12 on the top 10 list. Good idea about them being highlighted here though. Just a shame the free games are included.
Can't get HL out the top 10
@Shepherd_Tallon I'm in the same boat, going back and forth between FF16 and TOTK. However, yesterday I spent most of the afternoon in TOTK as I accidentally stumbled on the path to the final boss and wouldn't give up until I beat him. Was quite an exercise on endurance as obviously you aren't meant to reach him until you have completed other quests, but finally did it! Now back to continue the normal path!
The staying power of Mario Kart 8. Wow! I have played about 30 hours of TOTK and I am just so overwhelmed by it's scope. Needed a break. Playing Dark Souls 2 now.
@Darylb88 Just wait until Hogwart's releases on the Switch. It may never leave the top again.
Nintendo forgot to whine about TotK not selling as expected. It didn't even have an attachment rate of over 100% like BotW.
@Razrye888
....(opens mouth to say something)...(Closes mouth)...(Tilts head)...(stares confusidly)...(decides to move on)
Nintendo gamers tend to skew towards physical games. What I'd love to see is all the digital stuff included, so we can see the true state of things. Sadly, we may never get there.
Nintendo are still practically playing a different game to Sony and MS when it comes to competing for a share of the gaming market.
@JAMes-BroWWWn Seriously this year has been fantastic, DS Remake, RE4RE, FF16, Diablo 4, TOTK, Ragnarok, and Street Fighter 6. And we're still getting more
Wait...
-Not every game is a cartoon?...
-You have wRPG and jRPG?....
-Both Nintendo and Sony exclusives?...
-Games with both Western and Japanese Pop culture icons?...
-Top 3rd party games, including ones that give Jobs to Digital Artist in the country I live in (Thank You ๐)...
Even looks like gamers play games on both 4K Home Consoles and Handheld hardware ๐คฏ
Imagine that!
Oh wait... it is the UK chart not the Japanese one. Never mind, this is normal ๐
Anyway, Loving FF16. F1 2023 not up there anymore, but it is a blast! (needs PSVR2)
@Sekijo It was but it was at the end of the year really and people are still talking about it.
Maybe I should give Zelda Tears of the kingdom another try after Final Fantasy XVI. I gave up on it after the tutorial part, I just couldn't get into it because I didn't enjoy that part at all.
