SNK rolled out a new trailer for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves — now its official title, by the way — at Evo 2023, giving us our first real look at the currently in-development fighting game. It's been almost exactly one year since the project's initial teaser — which basically consisted of some concept art — but now we've got some stylish in-engine visuals.
We don't have a release window or anything like that yet, but the video suggests that we'll be getting additional updates in the not too distant future.
Are you hyped for the return of Fatal Fury? Howl for more in the comments section below.

I’ve honestly only played Garou out of this series but that game’s so incredible that a proper follow up like this is exciting.
Interested to see what a modern 1v1 SNK fighter will play like.
I know samsho exists, but it has a peculiar 2-3 hit design.
Always loved Garou, so glad a sequel is being made after all these years.
My opinion and my choice, since SNK is almost completely owned by the Saudi prince I have zero interest in any of its ip’s. Buying anything from them feels like funding a criminal organization that literally kills people. Yes I put gas in my car but that I have no choice.
ohh my heart just stopped for a second, because I thought it would be first game using Real Look technology!
@j2c, hope you do the same re russian games.
I like the look of this! Seems like character models are similar to KOF XV but the shading and vfx look better!
Also, I played A TON of Garou back in the day, it was great.
While I don't think ithe new 3D style comes close to the absolute majesty that was that old spritework (which, to be fair, what could), it still looks like a fantastic adaptation that reminds me a lot of KOFXV which, in my opinion, is one of the best looking fighting games on the market
also that shading on the supers is HEAVENLY
Hi there fellow gamers;
This was one of the trailers I was very excited to see and not only the art style looks good (even though it needs some polishing), but we got to hear some of the characters and think I herad my boy Ryo/Mr Karate and maybe even Yuri..... Was was it Hotaru?
Anyway, really looking forward to see more of this game.
Still can´t belive a sequel to Garou, one of my played Dreamcast games and one of the best SNK games to date is actually real.
Amazing times to be a fighting game fan.
Cheers and happy gaming to us all
N.i.c.e. fatal fury is a cool fighting franchise.word up son
@Blacksmith1985 The only developers I can think of right now are Saber and Mundfish. I believe both just have some offices located in Russia with other locations around the world. As far as I know neither of them are owned by the government or Putin himself for which I would definitely have a problem with. It’s not easy taking stances on things that for sure, I’m typing this out on my iPhone right now that was more than likely built in some ***** hole in china. Hopefully some of this can change in the future.
Looks exactly the same as KOFXV. Meh.
@Blacksmith1985 Very different situation. The actual Saudi govt owns SNK. Dev teams based out of Russia aren't govt owned, and are likely just like you and me. Just as you or I shouldn't have the deplorable actions of our government's murderous foreign policies put on us as if it were our idea and our doing, neither should Russian people.
No matter how good a game may look, I'll never support SNK due to their ownership. It's becoming increasingly difficult to dodge dishonorable ownership when the Saudi govt and Chinese companies inherently connected to the CCP like Tencent are buying devs or stakes in devs left and right. The CCP already influences content made by American and European companies simply by being a massive source of consumers devs have to edit content for just so they can release it in their market. Its a gross violation of intellectual and creative freedom. Also, Saudi's kill honest journalists in embassies. That's just the most prominent of their many other transgressions against humanity, particularly their own citizens.
@Vega37 "The CCP already influences content made by American and European companies simply by being a massive source of consumers devs have to edit content for just so they can release it in their market"
Sure but non-American devs have been doing that for years to get games released in America. Costume edits, character age changes, dialogue changes, edited character backstory, changing religious symbols, even things like 'Holy' in older FFs being renamed to 'Pearl'.
I guarantee you that almost every game you've played that was Japanese has been changed for a US market in some way, even if it's just pointlessly changing the age of a character like Penelo in FFXII. And typically those changes are carried into the European version, which is even worse.
@Vega37. @j2c. The Saudi government also owns over a five percent stake in Capcom. Does that mean no Resident Evil, Monster Hunter or Street Fighter for you either?
@Vega37 russian society supports war.
It doesn't matter if it is governmental or private, as taxes go to government.
God here we go with all the sanctimony about dIcTaToRs who apparently own the game companies again. All I care is that the game at the end is a good one and brings me back memories from when I was very little and being taken to arcades by my elder cousins. Most Western AAA game companies have ties to the most warmongering entity on Earth the US MIC too yet I don't think we'll be hearing calls to boycott CoD anytime soon.
@Blacksmith1985 Oh really? Have you talked to every Russian and asked them?
@Matroska Your not wrong and I'm not a fan of that either but its typically less egregious than "make the black character less prominent" or "countries don't exist". Sony themselves do it too which again I can't stand.
@Stevemalkpus Its true, you cannot buy anything while having a pure conscience. China is embedded in all societies, from the phone I'm typing on to car parts, we cannot ever truly escape it. Saudi oil is the same. We can however do our best to support (with our purchasing choices) those who hold similar values as much as we can. I don't know exactly where the "don't buy" threshold is, but for me 5% isn't it.
@Blacksmith1985 Also using that logic of taxes that means you support all the needless killing your government has done as well then?
@Vega37 UA government kills only russian army. Because they occupied UA territory.
Plain and simple.
Re every russian: russians choose their government and president. Gov and president represent the will of russian people and start occupying UA territory. Means russians support the war.
Even if there are 10 mill of russians, who do not support war, it doesn't matter, because this will be only 10% of country's population and, unfortunately, makes no difference.
