There aren’t many developers not named FromSoftware making compelling Souls-like experiences, but Hexworks may be about to overcome that challenge with Lords of the Fallen. After a recent hands-on session, we dared to describe the outing as in the “upper-echelons” of the increasingly popular genre – hearty praise, indeed.
Those of you eager to get your hands on the game may be reassured to know that the release has gone gold, then, meaning the core code has been completed and sent to manufacturing. While work will likely continue on a launch day patch, this development milestone typically means that the title is highly unlikely to be delayed.
And that means you’ll almost certainly be playing Lords of the Fallen in its entirety on 13th October, which frighteningly isn’t too far away. Will you be picking up this title during the busy end of year gaming release schedule? Timetable your holiday play sessions in the comments section below and let us know.

Can’t wait for this
Looks great. Between this and Lies of P, I think I'm pretty set for my Soulslike fix for the rest of this year
@roe indeed. I have both titles ordered and its going to be an awesome time.
Day 1. But silly my 3 pre-orders all come in same month. Mirage 5th October, Lord Of Fallen 12th October and Spiderman 2 20th October if I remember correctly.
Will be a great gaming fall in any case!
I don’t know where all the enthusiasm is coming from.
The original game was truly awful. It was such a chore to play let alone finish & ran terribly (68mc).
@Fight_Teza_Fight The first one was pretty mediocre, but this one is by a new team and looks a lot better from what I've seen.
@PixelDragon @Perturbator Fair enough. Will have to wait for reviews for it. The first game crashing or bugging out in the middle of a boss fight was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had.
good good, probably my most anticipated game of the year. I'm one of the few who completed and enjoyed the first one too apart from the chunky controls
The only Day 1 games for me this year have been Dead Space and Remnant 2. COD: MW III will be a day one title as well but if anything else has a chance to be a Day 1 title as well, it's Lords Of The Fallen. My only hesitation is, as good as it looks and as much positivity as has been thrown at it by reviewers who've played a little of it so far, I've been burned too many times pre-ordering a game or buying it on Day 1 not to be sceptical now. I'm looking at you BF 2042 & Callisto Protocol....
Pre-ordered and good to go.
I know one of the guys on the development team and know they have a talented group working on this one. Every preview I have seen is singing the game's praises.
Can not wait....

And there's a link to the hands on preview mentioned in this very article too.
Don't want to say the obvious of "read the article" but... 😅😅😅
@Ravix Oops never mind😅
This game looks awesome. My most hyped for game for the rest of the year along with Baldur's Gate and Lies of P. Spiderboy cheese aint my thing.
It’s ready for release, but you still can’t play it for another 7 weeks 😉
@Fight_Teza_Fight Nothing wrong with waiting for a review. 👍
