Mortal Kombat 1 will introduce a new single player mode named Invasions, as confirmed by translated information from the game’s Brazilian box art. NetherRealm Studios has been schtum about the solo offerings in its latest outing, but has previously promised there’ll be a replacement for the popular Krypt mode.

And now, the rear of the release’s physical copy confirms a mode called Invasions, which will see you “travel the Mortal Kombat realms fighting each season’s invasions in an all-new single player experience”. The word “seasons” suggests to us that the mode will change and evolve over time, a little like the Towers in previous instalment, Mortal Kombat 11.

With the release out in little over a month, the developer’s going to have to pull back the curtain on the fighter’s online and offline offerings eventually, and a Kombat Kast has been scheduled for later this week, where we’ll hopefully learn more.
