The Crash Bandicoot multiplayer spin-off Crash Team Rumble will be free-to-play this weekend as Activision confirms a Free Weekend promotion for the mainly online title on PS5, PS4. Anyone will be able to download and sample the game from Saturday, 12th August 2023 through to the Monday, and a selection of different characters will be available.
If you like what you play, all the XP and items you earn will carry over into the full experience. The game is actually on sale on the PS Store until 16th August 2023, discounted to £18.74 / $22.49 for the standard edition. Since launch, the game has been updated with a new map and character Ripper, and it received a time-limited mode in Zap Trap.
In our Crash Team Rumble PS5 review, we praised its online matches, selection of characters, and solid game mode to land on a 7/10 rating. "Addictive just enough to look past the lack of local play and potentially long load times, Crash Team Rumble is worth trying — even if you wish Crash would just stick to what he's known best for: platforming."

Even with it being free im not tempted to play this crap.
Nah not for me
Nope not even! Deposit some money into my account and maybe I'll play it for a minute or two
Free To Play by October, dead by Christmas?
Will be on PS+ in no time. Maybe in another year or two it will go free. Wouldn't be the first time so they would need that PS+ money first
Wait, that game has a price tag? wtf lol
what a shallow cashgrab.
Wow this game dropped off hard in the news even because I had NO idea that they added Ripper to the game. I mean granted I don’t care but like wow that dropped fast.
Remind us again on Saturday, please
No thanks. Honestly for how jank Crash Bash is I'd rather play that
