Publisher Kepler Interactive and developer Ebb Software have finally announced a release date for the PS5 port of Scorn, the grotesque first-person horror title that first launched last year. If you're interested in exploring its fleshy, squelchy nightmare of a world, you can do so when it arrives on 3rd October 2023.
Inspired by the biomechanical works of H.R. Giger, Scorn is predominantly a puzzle adventure game despite featuring various weapons. While you will engage horrible enemies in combat, the focus is clearly on the atmosphere and the setting, which places you in an unsettling organic world of pain from which you need to escape.
It released to mixed reviews in 2022, although our sister site Pure Xbox quite liked it overall, praising its "truly superb world-building and startling imagery".

Scorn sucked
Loved it on Xbox and i might double dip providing Sony don't censor it.
I feel like I could watch a playthrough of this on YouTube and find it as satisfying as actually playing it. I mean the art style is great and all but it’s not enough to make me interested. Maybe if it’s day 1 PS+, but if not, pass.
Wow I thought this was a full on exclusive to Xbox. So this game, like High On Life and others, is coming out of nowhere. Like I said before, at the very least PS is transparent about their timed exclusives.
Anyway, this does give off an "Aliens" vibe to it.
I've people love this game or hate this game. Rarely ever in the middle.
Means I have to try this game for myself. Definitely sale tho
“Inspired” is a bit of a stretch. Still, I do like the look of it.
Tried it but I just can’t play walking simulators. They just bire me to death. But I did grab some amazing screenshots that I use as wallpapers on my Series X
@Chaotic_Goat It does become less so. But, honestly, combat is so tough in this game (bullet sponge enemies with very little ammo) that it's best to just run and only use as a last resort.
It is more like a Myst-style game than Doom.
I need to get back and finish this one before it leaves Game Pass.
Also, this is hardly the "most repulsive game ever made".
Already finished it on PC when it launched. Although it seems intriguing at the beginning, and some of the puzzles are somewhat memorable, it drags towards the end.
Imo a fitting rating would be around 6 or 7 depending on personal preferences. Overall it's the kind of game to get as a heavy discount, or as a monthly free title on PS+. Play it once when/if nothing else is available, and move on.
Really enjoyed this game until I had to actually shoot something, and then it became a terrible game. Stopped playing it at that point and haven't gone back. Would have liked to have seen it through to the end to know what the hell was going on - but not enough to slog through the shooting mechanics.
It’s a very niche game. I personally didn’t like it at all when I played it on GamePass but others enjoyed it.
It kinda blows. Like there are parts where you can get what they were going for but it all comes together in a fairly mediocre package. Plus it’s in no way the most repulsive game ever made. That would go to America’s Army 😉
Was super excited for it's release and played it right when it was available. Hated it and gave up after about an hour of play. Decided to go back to it a couple weeks later after reading some positive reviews/comments about it. Sure glad I did because I absolutely love the game now. Imo it only gets better the further you are into it. Was all great for me once I got past that crane puzzle & the ending was absolutely worth my time. With the additional DualSense features that will add even greater immersion, I will absolutely be giving this another go on the PS5 for a Platinum trophy.
Hated it on my first try, loved it on my 2nd. You've to be in a special mood for this one. 100% achievements. The artstyle and sound design is fantastic and I'm looking forward to platinum this on PS5. Hope they'll also use the dual sense feature, would be great to feel walking on the murky underground. Alredy pre-ordered it.
It's a very unique experience. The more I played, the less I understood about what was happening. I'm glad I played and finished it but ultimately the game aspect of it was poor. Combat sucks, really slow pace, the puzzles werent very challenging but somehow still long and frustrating. The artstyle and grossness kept me curious enough to finish it, that aspect was very good.
@BrotherFilmriss Already confirmed to use both haptics and adaptive triggers. I'm in the same boat as you, hated it at first, went back later and absolutely loved it. Another playthrough with the DualSense is going to be great!
I don’t care how this plays, or if it does at all it looks fawking glorious I’ll be indulging in all of it’s gooey glistening glory.
I would love a PSVR2 version of this.
sounds like the art direction was not enought to save this game from itself.
I’ll likely check this out when it :
A) Comes to PS+ Extra
OR
B) Shows up in the ‘Games Under $15’ sale
I could **MAYBE** do $20 but from what I’ve heard it might not be even worth that much
Seems to be a lot of inserting, squishy sounds and HR Giger. I’ve seen worse. Looks mediocre.
Played like two hours through gamepass and was not worth it
I didn't play it on game pass and I'm not giving a penny for this fodder.
@DETfaninATL Save your $15 buy a better game on sale.
It’s a very hard game to recommend, but I loved it. I suspect most won’t however.
