Gamescom Opening Night Live just wrapped up, but Geoff Keighley rests for no one. The producer/presenter has three major beats every year, and next in his sights is The Game Awards. Keighley has announced the date for when 2023's big show takes place, and as expected, it's scheduled for just before the holidays on 7th December.
This year's a big one, too, as it'll be the 10th show. While no precise details have been confirmed yet, we expect Keighley will mark this milestone in some way. As stated in the above post, the show will celebrate "10 years and this year's amazing games, along with world premieres and new game announcements".
The Game Awards is usually a pretty good watch, mixing in award handouts for the year's best games and studios with exciting new announcements and reveals. It looks like 2023's show will be no different, so we're looking forward to tuning in.

Can’t wait for it. Even if ONL was a bust, TGA are always a lot of fun.
Gta6 reveal... Probably not though
@StrawberryTurtle and it only costed them 10 billion lol
@StrawberryTurtle i wouldn't be surprised to see baldurs gate 3 win, game journalists have the biggest say in the vote and all of them seem to be in love with the game.
@XboxTheBestBox. X box never won a game awards.it started in 2014.sony and Nintendo won.x box never did.word up son
@StrawberryTurtle 2023 has to be the most competitive year ever for goty. We still got some major titles coming out in the next couple months that could also win. Really think people are underestimating Spiderman 2.
Hopefully their will be actual good announcements. Because Summer Games Fest and Gamescom were both duds.
The Game Awards (and the Spike Awards before that) always were the most important time for new game announcements. Always the biggest ones, even bigger than stuff at E3.
Let's hope the 10th anniversary makes them even more important and we get something from Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch and Gendesign.
@XboxTheBestBox I doubt starfield will even be on the shortlist. Nothing seems top standard so far
@StrawberryTurtle baldurs gate will be well in that convo. It's been that and zelda. Nothing else has a shout
Baldur's Gate 3 Vs TotK
It might be the fact BG3 came out later that fully seals it, but overall it seems like they are pushing the standards of RPG's and games far more than Zelda, but then Zelda is universally fun in lots of ways for pretty much any age group, and it's just charming and lovely to play, like a cuddly Elden Ring
Interesting to see which way it goes.
Spider-Man and Starfield duking it out for the wooden spoon/bronze medal in a stacked year. And that's if Starfield actually turns out good. I've yet to see a trailer to make me want to buy an Xbox right away, unlike TotK, which made me buy a switch instantly after seeing a short intro clip 😁
