Peacock's adaptation of Twisted Metal for TV has only been out for a couple of weeks, and despite (indeed, perhaps because of) its thin plot and broad humour, we quite enjoyed it. Turns out we weren't the only ones either. NBCUniversal has revealed that people couldn't tear their eyes off the screen or themselves off the couch, becoming the "most-binged" new comedy series to date.
On average viewers watched roughly three episodes at a time, and while we didn't get exact figures, others knocked out all 10 in a single sitting. Nielsen data finds that viewers watched Twisted Metal for a combined 400 million viewing minutes, making it one of the week's most-watched streaming originals.
Did you get around to watching Twisted Metal? How many sessions did it take you to knock over the whole thing? Enjoy all things in moderation responsibly in the comments section below.

Soon on Peacock: "Vigilante 8 starring Dwayne Johnson as all eight vigilantes"
@Czar_Khastik and Amy Schumer as the school bus 🙃
That isn’t saying much is it.
@WolfyTn LMFAO 🤣👍
Still waiting on this to appear in the UK legitimately. I won't hold my breath though as they never released one of the greatest TV shows of the past 10 years, Galavant, in the UK.
I binged watched every episode when it first came out. Great show , hoping we get a season 2 and it has a bigger budget.
When is this getting aired in the uk
@Ajfennell77 I was wondering whether the Sky/Now/peacock deal is getting a bit limited, i've not seen this advertised or aired yet. I don't currently have the entertainment package, but usually see new shows added via advertising and on the homepage with my sports sub.
Not heard even a whisper about this show coming to the UK yet.
@Ravix nore me when I look on the peacock app on sky there's only like 10 shows on it witch is strange as ud think they would have more as sky and peacock are owned by the same company
Great news; I loved the show and am hoping this will help green light a season 2.
ESPECIALLY with what season 1’s finale sets up for the next season.
@Loamy Yeah, I dare anyone to name Peacocks previously “most watched comedy series”. I can name “Pokerface” but they probably consider that a drama. And even if it is a comedy they released it weekly so no one was binging it.
This might legitimately actually be THE ONLY SERIES that Peacock has ever dropped all at once, meaning it’s their only new show ever available to be binge watched.
And if anyone comes across a code let me know. I want to watch this, but not w/ ads and not for $13.🤷🏻♂️
I got a peacock sub to try watching the show but I'm in the minority that found it terrible and now instead I'm using it to watch the WWE Network.
I don’t have Peacock Premium but I watched the first episode for free and I really enjoyed it! I might have to do a month of premium just so I can binge it
@rjejr Based on a True Story was pretty good.
All that money could have gone to a new game. Just saying.
@pharos_haven I honestly can't say if I've heard of that or not. I think I saw or a trailer, but I liked Kaley Cucoo in Fight Attendant but I can't recall seeing her in a trailer for anything else recently.
In fairness to Peacock I don't think I've ever had the service though. And from what I know of streaming most people haven't.
When I do finally sign up for Peacock I'll give it a go though, thx. 👍
Sounds like once the strike is over they’ll probably green light a sequel.
I know it sounded like a trainwreck to take a game with no plot and turn it into a tv show, but it's actually really great.
If you like the Deadpool movies in atmosphere and humor, you'll love this.
Way, way better than I could have imagined. If you've got gallow's humor in you, it's the greatest show of the year.
No, I'm not being sarcastic.
@rjejr Kaley from Flight Attendent is on another Max show, only by voice.
She's Harley Quinn in the animated series, the new season is out now weekly.
In case you didn't know, the cartoon is aimed at adults, not kids.
10 eps at up to 30 mins each ~= say 270 mins for the series. At 400M mins streamed and assuming everyone watches it right through that’s about maybe 1.5M viewers globally yeah?
If my quick maths is close-ish, how does that compare to other streamed shows (I’m looking at you, TLOU)?
And obvs if a proportion of that estimate includes people who only made it through a few episodes, that means more viewers but less satisfaction+completion, which is… worse, right?? 😅
It was a great season. Hope they'll work on season 2
@burning_as_souls It's weird, I'm a fan of the animated DC movies - better than some of their live action ones - and I like Harely, but not enough that I've ever watched her cartoon. I'm not opposed to it, guess I just never got around to it. I'll watch it before I watch Peacemaker, nothing against John Cena, it just looks bad. 🤷♂️
With 30 minute episodes it lent itself well to binge watching. We finished it in two sittings and really enjoyed it. Hope this means a season 2 confirmation will come soon!
