The UK's boxed games chart always shifts around whenever a big promotion takes place, and that's no different here. Sony's been pushing the PS5 and its games pretty hard the last couple of weeks, and it's brought back some bestsellers. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was number one last week, and it remains there now, selling most copies on PS5.
FIFA 23 also holds its position at number two, while Grand Theft Auto V is up from 10th to fifth — again thanks to the big sale. Mortal Kombat 11 springs back up from 14th to ninth, also selling best on PS5. Sony first-party games move down, but Gran Turismo 7 clings onto 10th.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 12th August, 2023
- LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Hogwarts Legacy

- Mortal Kombat 11

It’s good to see gt7 Still selling because of the movie hype
Game were selling PS5 disc edition plus a copy of Lego Star Wars for £399 so I suspect that has something to do with it. I think Currys might have had the same offer on too?
Sale was very short though as prices are already back to the full £480 for the console on its own?
Man MK8 and GTA will stay in the top 10 forever at this point. Sheesh... Glad to see Pikmin up there though.
Guess FF 16 fell off the top.
@Rafie I believe FF XVI is not even in the top 40 now.
@Enigk In the U.S. and Japan it is still up around 2nd and 3rd.....You Brits are missing out. It is a great game, with an amazing story.
I just bought the Lego Skywalker for an insane discount and it is pretty good. I feel it did get rated a little high at launch as it is a bit glitchy and not as "legoy" as past games have been. Otherwise a good trophy chaser.
@Kriandis I can imagine it is amazing. Sadly I don't have the time to commit to these big RPGs these days. Not sure I am indicative of the general game buying public of the UK though as I last bought FIFA 10 years ago and even longer for COD.
@Enigk The good thing is you don't need to grind, unlike Diablo. You can just smash through the story in 30-40 hours and still enjoy the game. I have only played FFX-2 before and thoroughly enjoy this, more so because of active combat rather than a command-based one. I like yourself don't play RPG a lot because when I play I want to do everything.
@4kgk2 Yeah, truly well deserved. GT7 in VR with proper wheel and pedals is a dream come true.
I've driven a Ferrari 458 on a closed track in Vegas and the aforementioned combo comes eerily close to the real thing.
Warner bros is winning here, Hogwarts, MK11 and LSW:TSS
@MikeOrator lego skywalker saga has the basis to be an outstanding and huge game. The space stuff could be good as it controls well, the graphics are brilliant (less demanding due to the character models but those hdr neons and locations rock), the gimmicks make sense and you have hundreds of characters. It's just too repetitive with its side content and the constant back and forth across the galaxy late game is brain numbing.
