The Crew Motorfest is fast on the approach now, with the game launching on PS5 and PS4 in just a few weeks. Having been hands on with the open world racer recently, we can say with some confidence that it's coming together rather nicely. The above new trailer is testament to that — it's looking pretty darn slick.
The game arrives on 14th September, 2023, and the end of this video delivers some good news. At launch, The Crew Motorfest will have a free trial, allowing everyone to play the first five hours of the game at no cost. This trial period will last from 14th to 17th September, giving you a good few days to take it for a spin. As you might expect, your progress will carry over should you decide to buy the game after the trial.

I'm hoping that it plays as well as it looks.
The fact they're willing to give out a free 5 hour demo does fill me with confidence that it will be decent.
After playing the Closed Beta for more than 5 hours, I went for the UE. I really missed playing the game ...
Great idea... I enjoyed the beta. The problem with these trials though, is despite retaining your progress, they often cause trophy issues, ie. they're not awarded in the trial but the trigger point is missed when you upgrade to the full game. Usually you have to start over, which kinda defeats the point.
I will take advantage of this.
I spent about 15 minutes in the beta, and that was enough.
@Paranoimia for you to decide to buy it or for you to turn it off because of boredom?
@captainsandman Enough for me to dislike the obnoxious "dudebro" presentation, to dislike the handling model, to tweak the steering controls because the defaults were very sluggish, and to decide the handling model generally sucked.
I switched it to the most realistic handling straight off the bat, but the handling reminded me of some rally game I bought on the PS1 - instead of steering properly, the cars rotate around a central pivot point, and I've never got on with that way of doing things.
I might give this another go when the freebie time is available, just to see if things have improved - after all, that's what a beta is for - but I certainly won't be pre-ordering.
