CD Projekt Red now has a history of delivering great CG trailers, and this latest one for upcoming expansion Phantom Liberty is right up there with some of the best. It actually gives us a bit of background on Solomon Reed — played by English actor Idris Elba — who's a key character in the DLC. A government agent who's finally about to get out of Night City, he's betrayed at the last minute by a woman named So Mi and seemingly killed.
Seven years later, the NUSA president's shuttle is shot down with So Mi on board, and that's what kicks off the events of Phantom Liberty in Cyberpunk 2077.
If you want even more insight into the trailer, Idris Elba himself is on hand to react and break it down:

Ugh, ok this sold me. I've got so much stuff I'd like to play, but I can't help it, Night City just won't let me go it seems. Guess I am headed back in!
Too. Many. Games!
I have a game of Star War Jedi Survivor still going
I am playing Starfield.
I want this DLC
I want Alan Wake 2
I still have to get the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC
Super Mario Wonder
Super Mario RPG
Spider Man 2
I have yet to get Horizon Forbidden West - though if a Complete Edition is coming, I'll probably get that.
2023 you are KILLING MY WALLET!
Guessing Easter egg could be that sign in the background sign with “Dj” on. Elba radio station/ Dj mix perhaps
Simply amazing. My game after I am done with Starfield.
Type of games that keep me in gaming. Good times.
Definitely a hard pass wait for sale 1.99
So this takes place after or during the game? Usually DLC during the main game feel a bit pointless to me, since we know how everything ends up.
@Athrum Takes place during the main game but adds a new ending.
@GamingFan4Lyf xenoblade 3 DLC might be one of the finest gaming experiences I've had in years!!
Nnnope nope nope nope nope nope…
If 2.0 improves the gameplay I'm heading back to Cyberpunk as soon as I'm done with Starfield. Haven't touched the game after one playthrough at launch.
@Athrum
Different strokes for different folks and all that, but I really enjoy the storytelling mechanism in which you know how things end up, but via flashbacks (or something similar) you end up seeing everything slowly fall into place.
As an aside, "Heroes," one of my favorite shows ever, accomplished this with one person who could paint the future and another person who could time travel. Good stuff.
Will everything shown in the trailer actually be included in the game this time or will it be like the OG game, a total scam?!
Serious question, I got totally burned on base game, it still doesn't look good enough on my PS5 comparing to the original trailer that overpromised ALOT. Is it the same thing this time I wonder?!
Kinda sad when the dlc looks better than the main game. Shouldve just sold it as cyberpunk 2. Also is there any more edge runners stuff in phantom liberty? Id like the mech suit that david martinez used lol
