Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Incredible PS5 Gameplay Trailer Gives 29th February Release Date

I can't believe I'm actually 100x more excited for Final Fantasy than I am Spider-Man but here we are. That FF7R is just too special, been wanting more ever since beating it.

canceling this on PS4 also canceled my interest in this project. sorry not sorry.

Most anticipated game for next year. Also hellish Fenruary with Granue, Persona 3 and Ff7 all in the same month lol

Looks amazing. I wonder where in the story it goes up to? Looks like it advances things quite far.

@thetraditional On the PSBlog, they said that you won't be able to carry over stuff from game to game, as each is a standalone experience, in terms of that. If you do have a save file on your PS5 from Remake, though, you will get a special bonus in Rebirth.

I was low on the nostalgia, it's been like 25 years since I last played the entire thing, but WOAH on the graphics. Which I really needed after that Direct this morning filled w/ games that looked 3 console generations ago. I swear nothing on Switch looks like it couldn't run on Gamecube if they lowered it to interlaced SD. Gamecube games were SMOKIN' at the time.

Anyway, this trailer had me psyched. I only watched my kid play the first game so I'll have to wait until next summer to watch them play this, but I'm excited for it. Maybe I'll replay 7 in the meantime. I replayed the first few hours after they finished so they could see how it originally panned out. 😁

Sorry that you don't have a PS5, genuinely. But that doesn't mean this argument isn't completely bizarre. Time moves on, the PS4 is a 10 year old console.

@dustinprewitt You can be interested in games on consoles you don't own.
At some point in the next couple of years the PS4 will be abandoned completely bar the odd indie title. Luckily there are so many quality titles on the PS4 it would take you a lifetime to finish them all. As long as your console lasts long enough of course.

@Savage_Joe kids these days.... no respect. They'll change their tune when their system becomes obsolete, and they'll be too old to have mommy and daddy shell out another 700 bucks to buy them a new one.

@dustinprewitt it was never planned to be on the PS4, nevermind cancelled. Baffles me people think a series that started on a console with 2011 specs would end on that console when the last part probably won't be out until 2028. The HDD would absolutely kill the scope of the game, we wouldn't even get a world map.

@JSnow2 is it just me or is it hard to be excited for Spider-Man 2? And this is coming from me who considered SPIDER-MAN PS4, one of the BEST PS4 games…. I platinumed it and Miles Morales both (platinumed the first game twice counting Remastered)…. but for some reason SM2 I don’t feel anything when I see trailers.

@Bentleyma Devs keep bringing games to the switch, a significantly weaker system than ps4, but when few people like me wants a game to be made for ps4, people here seem to lose their minds to defend their precious $500 machine

@Savage_Joe I guess people just don't understand why you're advocating for a game to limit its ambition so it could run on a system that's over a decade old by the time the game releases. FFVII Rebirth, as it is presented to us in that trailer, would not exist in that state if had to run on a PS4.

People aren't losing their minds, they're simply pointing out that, at some point, it's okay to just move on to the next system. For those that are missing out right now, that's okay too, they get to play this at some point in the future when they're ready to move on to the PS5. The main thing is that Square-Enix has the freedom to create the game they want to create, which can only be a good thing for all involved.

This is how you do a remake. The bar has been set and many, many others have fallen short.

For everyone that played the original when it released all those years ago... what an amazing gift this is. Well done SE - I often criticise them for all the rubbish they do, but this one deserves the applause and the accolades.

They packed in the content to this trailer too... things I am looking forward to and expected to see in part 2.
