Lies of P is a Souls-like in the tradition of FromSoftware's greats, but one which has carved out a place of its own with an impressive commercial showing (we thought it was great, too). This subgenre is infamous for the exacting nature of its difficulty, but things have actually been dialled back quite substantially in the game's most recent revision.
Update 1.2.0.0 is now live on all platforms. Generally speaking, the HP of certain enemies has been reduced, and the frequency at which they can be staggered has increased. The drop rates for Moonstone and Ergo items have been increased, and specific bosses have been nerfed. The ability to reset the character's level, P-Organ, and Legion Arms has been added at the Gold Coin Tree, as well as tweaks to encumbrance and various fable arts.
The list of changes pertinent to PlayStation players are as follows:
Balance Changes Field Monster Balance Changes
- Decreased the HP of certain field monsters
- Increased the chance of breaking some monsters' stance and the frequency of stagger
- Increased the staggerable window time
Decrease the HP of all 3 types of Dimensional Butterflies
Adjusted the rewards for some monsters
- Increased the drop rate of Moonstone type items
- Decreased the drop rate of Star Fragments
- Increased the drop rate of Ergo items
- Increased the Ergo rewards of certain monsters that appear after Lorenzini Arcade
Boss Monster Balance Changes
- Decreased the HP of 'Fallen Archbishop Andreus'
- Decreased the HP of 'King of Puppets' in the first phase
- Decreased the HP of 'Simon Manus, Arm of God'
- Decreased the damage of 'Simon Manus, Awakened God'
- Increased the chance to break the stance of 'Simon Manus, Awakened God'"
Increased the Specter's HP and damage
System Changes Related to the Character Progression Reset
- Added the feature to reset the character's level, P-Organ, and Legion Arms at the 'Gold Coin Tree'
- Characters created after this patch will now receive 8 Gold Coin Fruits instead of 5 for their first harvest
- Adjusted the required amount of gold coins to reset the character's level, P-Organ, and Legion Arms
Additional Changes
- Players will now be able to carry more weight for each point spent on Capacity
- Decreased the weight of Amulets that could be purchased with Boss Ergo
- Players will now be able to land attacks better when they use fable arts that consume three or more slots. (includes Fable Arts that stack)
- Successfully performing the Fable Art 'Guard Parry' will now break the monster's stance

Lies of Pee hehehehehe.
My humor hasn't evolved past the age of two.
Not a fan of nerfs like the ones in ac6. But I guess if this many nerfs had to happen it may have been an issue. Haven't played it myself yet. But good to know.
Imagine making changes for player concessions instead of just telling them to git gud.
I played for quite a bit last night and i didnt notice anything that was fundamentally different. I read the patch notes before jumping in and the only thing that i noticed that really was apparant was the stagger..and its not much to be honest. Once you get the hang of the game and the flow of parrying its not as unbalanced as you originally think. It really rewards the effort taken to learn how it plays like sekiro more than any other FromSoft game and i wish i was as good as some of those players because they made sekiro look easy. Loving lies of p an awful lot.
@Grimwood the demo put a lot of people off which is a real shame.
That's disappointing. I've been making good, slow progress so far but I kind of feel anything going forward is a little tainted now
Oh perfect timing.. I had just finished the game a few days ago 🥲🥲
@roe if it helps they only nerfed three bosses I believe, and the one I’m on now the nerf is welcome because it only nerfed the first phase which had way too much health for a two phase fight.
I would have preferred just respec change and buffs to weapon types (like the slower weapons) but I guess these changes are easier to do fast.
@Northern_munkey for me for the most part it seems balanced the bosses in the patch notes did need adjusting imo.
Especially as they are two phases.
@Grimwood I hated the demo too, the only reason I gave it a shot was because of word of mouth and I’m enjoying it.
The demo didn’t do it any favours for me
@Northern_munkey I was one of those people, but I gave it another chance, and I love this game. Beat it a couple days ago, and slowly doing a NGplus run while playing Cyberpunk.
I'm surprised to say I enjoyed Lies of P more than AC6.
I finished it without this patch. There was only a couple bosses that really felt hard. Like Andreas, he is in an awkward spot as he's the first really "hard" boss, but you don't get any wish stones to buff your specter until the next boss after him.
I think the specter buff is REALLY needed. These guys are absolutely useless without wishstones and even then, they just suck. I know some Dark Souls summons are overpowered, but come on... Specters shouldn't be as bad as they were at launch.
@Constable_What i'm loving it but i'm struggling to find time to really get my teeth into it..after 4pm today i have 3 days off so depending on how long it takes europe to smash the Americants in the ryder cup decides how much time i have in between to play some more. Glad you enjoyed it as much as i am 👍
If they feel they need to make that many changes sounds like it would have been easier to just put in an across the board “Jiminy cricket” mode.
Oh great, I just platinumed the game three days ago. I hate my life!
