The previous Marvel’s Spider-Man games proved a completionist’s dream, and it looks like the same will largely be true of incoming sequel, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Acclaimed developer Insomniac Games has shared a partial list of Trophies for the imminent release, presumably with spoiler-filled story gongs removed. And the takeaway is that you’re going to have to do pretty much everything to achieve that prestigious Platinum.
For example, gongs include 100 per cent completing every district in the game, which will likely include completing any quests, finding all collectibles, and solving all crimes. You’ll also need to purchase all gadget upgrades, unlock all available suits, and fulfil a variety of combat objectives as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. It all looks relatively straightforward, but the underlying theme is that you’ll be required to do everything.
You can view the partial list of spoiler-free Trophies through here, but once you’ve had a browse, let us know if you’ll be going for the Platinum or not. It looks like it’s going to be a fun one to unlock, doesn’t it?

I do hope its not the collectathon that the first game was
I’ll absolutely plat this. I pretty much platinum what I play:

There's not a single game I've ever done everything and there never will be because I don't waste that much of my time (already doing that writing this comment!)
It would be rude not to.
Is it October 20 yet?
I will get the platinum once it comes to PS+. Imo the spiderman games are decent games that are waaaaaaay overhyped.
So ready for this. I just platinum’d Miles Morales yesterday. It’s going to feel familiar but at the same time I’m interested to see all the refinements and improvements.
Can we get any trophies that isn't just completing or collecting everything?
I got the plat for both spidermen games on ps4 the when i got the ps5 and was given the chance to import said platinum i declined as i thought i would love to do it all over again on ps5. Boy do i regret that decision and never went back to them. I liked my time with them but once i was done with them i was well and truly done.
I'll just play regularly I ain't got time for platinums with ridiculous backlogs
@trev666 Better not be. And those challenges with screwball better begone too. I'd rather that character NEVER make a return to any spider media.
That's another platinum I'm almost definitely not going to get. I just can't do the whole drawing mental lines between neon points on a map thing anymore. It's too clinical for me.
The wording of this article reminds me of the PS3 Slim’s first marketing campaign, and in a strange twist of fate in the final form, coming full-circle to say “You only do everything.”
I really liked the original game's gameplay loop, so this is fine with me. I naturally wanted to do everything and got the platinum. The only thing I didn't like about the Miles Morales spin-off was it required two playthroughs to get the platinum. The first game didn't have missable trophies and it could all be done in one run. I hope the same holds with the sequel.
Where's the trophy for solving all the Riddler puzzles? Oh wait, it's this another game that really tries hard to be a Batman: Arkham game...
I’ve got the first game’s platinum trophy twice (original on PS4, Remastered on PS5), so I don’t mind collecting things or 100%ing districts. I just hope there aren’t trophies or abilities locked behind new game+ like Miles Morales did. If I’m gonna play the game twice, I want two platinums dammit! 😂
@DETfaninATL that is quite the trophy list!
This definitely sounds like a nightmare imo but it's exactly what should be required for platinum. Not a fan of plats that pop for putting in the minimum amount of effort.
@LemonDrizzleCake Thanks m8! It’s just the product of an obsessive/compulsive disorder. 🤣🤣🤣
@Grimwood I find it strange how proud you seem to be about that lol. Next time I'm completing a game I enjoy, I'll remember "wait, Grimwood said I'm wasting my time! I could be watching the paint dry instead!"
I've played most Sony games over the years but after playing spider-man I'm not sure I can play the sequel. The busy work was too much for me and made me hate the game by the end. I'd much rather a new Ratchet and Clank game.
Pretty hilarious to see the bias in framing the two articles regarding trophies for this and AC mirage.....
"Assassin's Creed Mirage Trophy List Demands a Lot of Busywork for the Platinum"
"The previous Marvel’s Spider-Man games proved a completionist’s dream, and it looks like the same will largely be true of incoming sequel, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2."
Ironic considering Spiderman was largely:
Assassins Creed : Spiderboy
Backpack edition
With loads of boring repetitive side content, tower like map reveal unlocks, and collectible/icon chasing across a relatively shallow and lifeless world.
@trev666
LOL. I hope it is.
@Powerplay94
It was a fairly easy plat. Even I got that one and I don't normally go for them.
@Nepp67
What the hell could they be?
Bronze Trophy - Just Hanging Out - Watch the idle animation of SpiderMan for 15 min
Bronze Trophy - Well This Sucks - Walk on the ground for a total of 15 km.
Bronze Trophy - What Do You Mean They Attach To Something - Try to web sling where there are no places for webs to go
These games are so much better to me when you just play the main campaign. Too much Ubisoft filler work to go off the path.
@MikeOrator For a collectathon, it wasn't even all that time consuming.
I've platinumed SM 2018 and MM on both PS4 and PS5. I'll be enjoying my time platinuming SM2.
@MikeOrator Way to think creatively.
So long as I don't have to do anymore of those stupid obstacle courses and training sessions where you fight a bunch of NPCs a non-mission.
I have 3 platinum trophies after many many years of gaming. 2 are from telltale games (so i don't count those) and the other is Spider-Man. Spider was legit the only game I've ever put effort into getting as the game was enjoyable and the trophies were things I didn't mind actually putting any effort into.
@DETfaninATL very impressive collection bro 👍😎
I noticed you have the F.E.A.R 3 platinum. You gonna go for the Trepang2 plat?
@Powerplay94 I'm not a trophy chaser at all. In fact, I've only gotten a Platinum twice. One was for Spider-Man. The other was for Returnal.
@JimRyansReplacement Thanks man! I doubt I will do Trepang2. The game is right up my alley but everything I’ve read about the difficulty on the platinum is a hard pass. It’s apparently extremely difficult and at this point in my life I game for enjoyment and a MODERATE challenge. Not for a hair-pulling, TV-cursing, rage-inducing one. 😉🤣🤣🤣
