Capcom's shown off a brand new chunk of gameplay for Dragon's Dogma 2, and boy is this action RPG sequel looking good. As we've come to expect of the Japanese developer, the weighted combat looks like an absolute blast, and a true evolution of the mechanics that were present in the first Dragon's Dogma.
You'll still have distinctly different character classes to choose from, and you'll once again be scaling larger beasts in order to bring them down or strike weak points. And as previously confirmed, the pawn system returns, allowing you to recruit AI-driven, not-quite-human party members for your adventures. Again, it all looks fantastic.
The wait for a release date continues, however. 2024 seems like a safe bet at this point — probably the summer or autumn — but Capcom's keeping its cards close to its chest. Hopefully we get another glimpse of the game soon.

I couldn't be more hyped.
It's so beautiful. Like something out of my dreams.
@ShogunRok Same.
Had to mute myself in a work call while I watched this on the TV behind me.
It looks amazing.
D&D meets Goblin Slayer meets Capcom. 🤤
Was out on a early morning stroll watching this. Did a fist pump in excitement when they showed the Magick Archer, my favorite in the first. Pretty sure I scared some poor innocent individual out walking their dog. Good times!
Wow this actually looks like it's going to be an amazing sequel. I ain't expecting anything interesting when it comes to the story though which is fine
Now we are talking. It doesn't need to be anime to be great. 🤤🤤
Looking good Arisen.
@ShogunRok Capcom also announced the Apollo Justice Ace Attorney trilogy of the DS/3DS games for PS4,(NSW,Xbone,Steam),too.
Of all upcoming games, I gotta say this is at the top of my list. And that’s saying something when games like Lords of the Fallen, Spider-Man 2, Banishers, Granblue Relink and FFVII: Rebirth are all on the horizon.
Looks fantastic
Looks great. Multiple paths, battle choice, nearly guaranteed multiple endings, 2 bastions of civilization. Love it. The attentive pawns catching you is great fun.
@NinjaNicky The first gave you ample choice to make your way as a basic or advanced class. Pawns make up for any weaknesses you may have. Can have a balanced or unbalanced team. No sign of the bigger monsters in the video, but looks great.
This looks phenomenal. If we get this and Pragmata next year…
I still have the first game in my backlog, but I’m still looking forward to this. Everything Capcom releases recently is gold.
Won’t watch any of it! I wanna go in blind because I already know I’m sold. One of my favorite RPGs ever!
@NinjaNicky you can get the first one for £4 currently on ps store. It’s worth it
Wolves hunt in packs and Goblins hate fire
Loved the first one. CapGod is on a roll
Well that looks bloody fabulous
I loved the first game! Part of it's charm for me was the hilarious dialog of your companions, I hope that element remains. I also loved the online element where the second character you create goes off to other people's games and comes back with treasure. I still remember the first time I encounter a chimera just wandering around some woods at low level, I nearly dropped the controller (and died of course).
This gameplay looks amazing.dragon dogma 2 is going to be excellent.just like dragon dogma dark arisen.word up son
Went on my Wish List as soon as it was announced a few months back. It just might be THE game of 2024. I'm all over it.
Poured hundreds of hours into the first. Probably my most anticipated game sequel ever and this gameplay does not disappoint.
i seriously can't remember the last time i wanted to play a game as much as i do dragonsdogma2.
it's been like 15-20 years since i preordered a game and i am very tempted, and depending on when it gets released, very likely to preorder this game.
first one was so good.
A new updated take is a HUGE welcome. even if it looks like a very close experience.
i mean, i didnt see much new stuff in that trailer. its looks like a quality remaster of the first, and that's all good to me.
First one was awesome, some of the best magic I have ever used in a game. The dlc was good aswell
Looks like FF16 mixed in with BG3.
For whatever reason the first Dragon's Dogma just didn't grip me and as a result I never played through the whole thing. I really expected to like it too since it pretty much ticked every box for what I look for in games. Despite this, I will still most likely try this one out because wow... this looks incredible!
Clicked the video and could have sworn this was Witcher 4. Looks good though
We've wanted a sequel for this game forever and now we have it they long wait begins now
@Gitface exactly the same as me. I even installed it again last night and it didnt change my mind. I will still get this tho as it does look amazing.
I was sad when I think about after finishing Baldur's Gate 3, there won't any great RPG lined up.
I'm not sad anymore. This looks great!
Using a troll as a bridge. Great stuff.
