Sony has revealed three new DualSense and PS5 cover colours, which are part of its new 'Deep Earth Collection' series. The three chromatic colours include Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver. You can pre-order both the controllers and the plates from the 4th October, but the release dates are slightly staggered.
The Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue variations will launch on the 3rd November, while the Sterling Silver editions drop over two months later, on the 26th January, 2024.
We think these new tones look particularly snazzy, but do you like what you see? Which colour would you think about buying? Embrace the earth in the comments section below.

Huh, well, I like that red more than the old one, but I prefer the light blue. The silver is pretty clean looking, now they need a gold.
Silver all the way.
So boring. Xbox still has PlayStation beat when it comes to this stuff.
Wait these are just covers and not console bundles? Paying for a cool Spiderman design is 1 thing, but paying for a red, blue or silver color just seems weird, even if it matches your controller.
I can buy the red plates then get spiderman stickers to make my own Spiderman console.
Feels so early 2000s.
Feels very PS2. In the best possible way.
Was going to just get the black plates to have a stealthy PS5 but the silver looks great. The blue I want to see in person first
@SegaBlueSky Huh? The platform where the X only comes in black, and the S in black or white? VS PS5s now 9 different colours?
They have some cool controllers but when it comes to the consoles, there's nothing
still waiting for gunmetal version if it ever release for ps5, but silver just ok, why they release red and blue again I don't know it look alike like before
…..Silver… but no GOLD?!
Blue and red. Wow. Who is the creative team behind these absolute marvels?
Not really loving any of those. I do have the black plates and black controller to match my Series X and Switch. I would buy a classic PS one set of plates and a controller if the buttons are colored like PS one. Otherwise I’ll stick to black.
The silver DualSense looks alright. My Galactic Purple DualSense(and Plates) remains my favorite color thus far. I would like a Sunset Orange DualSense controller with the same color scheme as the PS4 controller one.
@SlipperyFish Pretty sure they're talking about controllers. Xbox has loads of special editions with fun designs while PS has only had a few with only some basic colors offered. Heck Xbox has design labs which allows you to design your own custom controller, Sony has nothing like that.
@JayJ yeah can't argue with that. I really like the customisation of the console though. You win some you lose some.
I’ve been waiting for the Silver DualSense controller for ages. But the blue looks so slick as well IMO. I already have the GoW, a red & light blue one (and a white one that’s left analog stick is somehow is messed up). These aren’t limited edition I’m assuming, right?
these colours are boring!!! why don't they do some graphic designs or even better game specific graphic design as they always sell out.
I like the silver............... shame I bought a Dualsense edge and the colours won't match 🫤🫤🫤🫤🫤
They need to make some decent plates, like make videogame themed? Old console themed? Design your own plates/ controller like Microsoft (Controller)
Anyone who remembers the PS3 Slim in about 2010 knows there were a run of black/red/blue controllers, semi limited edition style. So this is just a rehash of that. Very green of Sony to recycle this 13 year old idea, although in metaphor only as green isn't one of the colours featured.
Personally I'm looking for a beech/light oak panels so I can really hide the vile 5 away even more, I've got it bunged behind the TV unit at the moment with only a small amount protruding so I can access the disc drive.
As for controller colours, these are really disappointing considering the variation that we had in the DualShock 4s.
I'm always a sucker for red, and this new one is certainly nicer than the old red. But that blue looks more purple to me! If any, I'd probably take silver, to remind me of my old special edition silver PS2, that I used to own.
@sanderson72 Yes. Mine is firmly squeezed between the upper and lower panels of a desk, with just the USB ports and disc drive exposed, haha.
@Macver1ck Steel Black is my favourite DS4 too!
Wish they'd let us use the DS4s for all PS5 games - the DS5 seems like a bit of a one trick pony so far and so much more uncomfortable to hold than the old ones.
And while they're at it, bring back the coloured buttons!
@SlipperyFish Yeah true, the ease of changing the look of your PS5 console is pretty neat. I changed mine to black back when I installed an M2 expansion drive.
That blue looks nice but i bought the spider man 2 controller. Waiting on my covers. Would be cool if they sold a clear transparent set.
@thetraditional I would kill for a yellow one. I do feel this shade of Red and Blue is pretty dam basic compared to the nebula purple, pink and Azure blue
@SegaBlueSky dam I just googled them and you're right there Xbox one's look really good. I did like first pink purple and Azure blue ps colour for 5 , but this stand Red Blue and silver I find to be creatively boring. It definitely feels like Xbox had an actual artist designing their control. Would be surprised if it was just random CEO saying just do then red blue and silver , those are the colours males like lol. Wouldn't mind getting up an Xbox when they come down a bit in price. Games seam cheaper than ps5
@sanderson72 yeahh steel black/gunmetal DS5/Dual edge and Plate would be cool colour for ps5 isnt it? Why sony comes out with colourful but leave the solid one i dunno, the best one they had is the black and the new silver.. still waiting for that gunmetal/steelblack though
It so awesome! Sony is very brave and great company if they decided to make PS5 in colors of my country's flag. I really respect them for that.
@TabulaRasa yellow color in conjunction with aforementioned red and blue would be great. It would represent my homeland, Venezuela and its brother countries, like Ecuador and Colombia.
