Developer FromSoftware has announced its action RPG Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has now sold through over 10 million copies. This figure includes physical and digital sales data across all platforms.
On its website (translated via Google), the studio expresses its "sincere gratitude to everyone who played this work" in a short statement on the milestone.
FromSoftware had its formula for action RPGs nailed down, but with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, it took a big swing to the left. The resulting game has some stark differences from the likes of Dark Souls and Bloodborne, but it's brilliant in its own ways, focusing on precision parries with a singular character. We called it a "fiercely challenging, yet highly compelling" action title that's "wonderfully rewarding to master" in our review.
10 million sales for Sekiro puts it among the developer's bestselling games. Nothing can touch Elden Ring, which surpassed the 20 million mark back in February, but as far as we can work out, Sekiro is in third place behind Dark Souls III.
Anyway, are you among the 10 million who bought Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice? What do you think of the game? Tell us in the comments section below.

I had it pre-ordered and no-lifed it hard until I had the Platinum. Hesitation is defeat.
I liked this game. Think i might have to get it again. A ps5 updated would seal that deal for me
FromSoftware have been on a crazy run of all hits since DS2. Excited for whatever's next
"We died more than that while playing"
True.
This is my second favourite game after bloodborne that's from software love this game
Still haven't gotten round to this... and have been holding off Elden Ring until I have played Sekiro. God my Backlog is long! One day!
Thoroughly deserved, an incredible game that just seems to improve with each playthrough. An all time top 10 game for me!
When I first completed this game, I was 100 percent sure I'd never play it again since Isshin gave me such a hard time. Then I replayed it a couple of years later and something simply clicked to an extent it hasn't before. Now, I can basically rush through the game without any major difficulties and I can't exactly point my finger on what it was that made me "get the combat". The exact same thing happened to me with Returnal, although this one is much more dependent on multiple factors due to the randomly generated nature pertaining to weapons and such.
I played this years ago and enjoyed it.
But waiting for proper sale price. The sale price has been £29.99 for years now.
I faltered twice in this game at Great Shinobi Owl even though I loved it. Gonna play it again after BG3. Tbf my 2nd playthrough was about half the time of the first as I'd got decent at parrying.
This game had the most satisfying combat I've played in a looong time to where I kept replaying it despite knowing it had little replayability. The combat was just so polished.
@God_of_War_ yeah ive noticed this too. Always on sale but doesnt ever feel like a sale. Its like a first party Nintendo game lol.
Literally this is the best game I've ever played since NES period.
Would imagine most of these sales are on PC.
This game hasn't seen a decent price drop since release, as others have already said, and the physical copies are hard to come by anyway.
Waiting for it to go on a deeper sale for under $20. Been waiting a long time.
It's so good.
Need to replay at some point

Great game in itself, but still my least favorite From game. The hard reliance on parries and poor customization options compared to Souls/Bloodborne were my biggest gripes.
Sekiro shadows die twice is a excellent game.2019 game of the year.and easily one of the best games ever made.word up son
That Monkey boss in the pit, I genuinely think that took me a calendar year to beat him, and then he just picks up his sword and head and comes at you again lol.
A gaping wound in my side. The only From Software game since Demon's Souls (except for Armored Core 6), that I never finished It just didn't click with me. Maybe I'll give it another try with the FPS unlocked on PS5. Just back at Dark Souls 3 atm
Well deserved. IMO it's the best of FromSoftware's souls-type games
I played this game, the gameplay is good but boring, all fights depend on whether you can parry or not, if not then you can't play this game. It's hard in the truest sense, you have to master the parry moves, there's no other option.
I prefer elden ring and it's freedom of gameplay, but I think it's pretty good game if you can master the parry moves.
@Kidfunkadelic83 it does run at 60fps on ps5 already, so that’s something!
@wiiware exactly this^^
I completed it and thought that even if you master the parrying it's still as one dimensional as every other game.
It's good but not as great as the other fromsoft offerings imo.
@Shstrick didnt know this. Thanks 👍
Hilarious subheading 🤣🤣🤣
@Cherip-the-Ripper I think one of the reason people rarely talk about sekiro anymore is because there aren't discussion about how to beat bosses in this game. The answer is always "just be good at parrying".
In elden ring it's fun to talk about how we can beat even the first boss (the tree sentinels), some people just solo it throught skill (like youtuber asmongold, I tried that and got absolutely destroyed lol), others after they got torrent, some others people after they level-up, got torrent, and got summon, like me
While I don't mind having one, Sekiro was one of those games that feels complete and doesn't need a DLC. Really challenging but very fulfilling and one of Fromsofware's best game created
Wow, I was not expecting this. Last time I heard about sales figures for Sekrio it was sitting around the 2.5 million mark if my memory serves correct. I don't understand how we got from 2 mil all the way up to 10 mil especially when considering most games sell the bulk of their copies in the first couple weeks of launch
I got this a while back with a dirt cheap code for Xbox but have never played it. I own all the Elden Soulsborne Ring games on PlayStation but it surprises me how little this gets talked about compared to the others.
For those who have played it and the other FromSoftware titles, is there any reason why this gets ignored so much?
Absolute Masterpiece. 11/10.
@wiiware yh man, even the lore stuff died down.
Initially it was interesting to read some discussion on the dragon's origin and whoever the swordmaster was for the woman whose name I forgot.
But yh even that died down, not releasing any dlc didn't help the cause.
I forgot about the Tree Sentinel until I was already way overpowered 😂
@God_of_War_ Forget it, I was like you waiting for it to drop from that $30/£30 but it's been stuck there for a hundred years, it's ridiculous, gave up and got it early this year I think.
@wiiware naah it's not all parrying but if there's a game that teaches you parrying, it's Sekiro. You can get stronger and one hit enemies though.
i'll have to pick this up at some point. I'm against the grain here but bloodborne is the From Game i had hardest time getting into and think i would have same problem here. I'm a magic user in these games and i'm not used to the up close combat. I also have armored core 6 still shrink wrapped waiting for me when i get to backlog (after starfield and halloween games)
Stopped at the Bull and rider. Repeatedly dying isn’t fun. Watching someone beat this blindfolded doesn’t help my confidence much.
