The UK's boxed games sales for last week have arrived, and once again, Hogwarts Legacy is flying high. It's back at number one as the release schedule cools off, though that's not to say there are no new games in this chart.
The Crew Motorfest couldn't best the magical RPG, but it still secured a number two debut, selling nearly three quarters of its copies on PS5. Elsewhere, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga moves down from fourth to sixth, and Rockstar is having a decent week. Grand Theft Auto V continues to disrupt things at number five, and Red Dead Redemption 2 reenters the top 10 after several weeks hovering just beneath.
Here's the latest physical top 10 in full.

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Nice to see Motorfest doing so well. I'm having a lot of fun with it and it deserves to shift some units.
Hogwarts Legacy is starting to get discounted which would explain this... under Β£40 in a few places like Smyths Toys which probably makes up a good chunk of physical sales these days.
Good to see Motorfest selling well, Iβm really enjoying it. Though Ubisoft must be a bit miffed to just miss out on the top spot by a game thatβs been out 7 months π
Nice to see Hogwarts Legacy up there. And there is still Halloween and Christmas to boost its sales even more. It's really a fantastic game, I hope it will get some awards (but not really hopeful, looking at the industry trends).
@Titntin @Nightcrawler71 I tried the trial for The Crew Motorfest and I'm far from convinced. I had to change the the driving settings again and again to come close to something arcadey enough to my taste (but kudos to the devs to offer these settings) and I got overwhelmed by all the "events and activities" exploding all over the map 10 minutes after the start. Add to this the cringey dialogue and NPCs, and I guess it's another racer not for me.
I really miss old school arcade racing games where you would drive around carefully designed tracks with unrealistic but bombastic driving... to be honest, I just want my Split/Second remaster!
BG3 is still in the top 5 for paid digital games in the UK this week too π
(Going off the top 10 in your country chart on PSN. The Crew is only #4, behind Mortal Kombat, FC24 and NBA. Also Spider-Man2 pre orders are making their way into the list)
BG3 is still going strong for a none sports game, as a lot of people interested will have pre ordered, or got it during release week. And it hasn't fallen off the chart like FF16. Really nice to know more people will be discovering just how epic it is.
P.S go buy it, seriously! RPG heaven π
Holy sh#t, nothing stops Hogwarts Legacy. If they manage to make it work on Switch too I might end up being one of the best-selling games.
Fully deserved first and second place.
Who had Far Farm on their bingo card? Lol
Starfield down to #8 in just one week LOL! πππ
@DefiledViper Yeah because 25+ million have access to it via GamePass. Itβs impressive that itβs on the list at all.
Red dead redemption 2 needs more love from rockstar
@Olmaz fair enough we are all different. But the races in motorfest are really well laid out and designed by any standard and ive played all arcade racers since video games started (I was 22 when outrun released in the arcades), so ive a broad base for comparison π
Fortunately you dont choose races via the map, cause your quite right the map gets spoilt by all those icons appearing and theres no filters. Its still a fantastic map though, love how you can zoom into so far and wander around, it works like the drone mode in forza almost, good for finding treasure locations.
Whilst im not proposing the script in this is award winning, you can simply mute the ai if you prefer. Call me old fashioned, but i judge an arcade racer by the racing π€£
Shame it didnt work for you. I'd assume Forza Horizon wouldnt work for you either as they are extremely similar.
Stick with old goldies mate. My PS3 remains plugged in for Motorstorm and that game still does it for me π
I hope you get to play something that agrees with you more soon. Have a lovely day!
Edit:.. and yes Hogwarts was amazing and deserves all the success its had. Hoping for sequal!
Iβm surprised the UK Sales Chart is still being reported on these days, itβs almost as irrelevant as reporting DVD/CD sales.
Hogwarts is still my goty contender but i have to admit that lies of p has really got its hooks in me and even though i'm only on the third area i'm in love with the game. Hogwarts deserves all the praise it gets and i'll be returning to it to mop up those trophys i still need to get. Awesome game.
@Wheatly @Lup
If they can get Hogwarts Legacy to work on the Switch it will be real magic and Portkey/Avalanch/Warner deserves videogame company of the year.
What would the spell be: Vidiogameo Workiosa
@MaccaMUFC
There are still a lot of physical copies shifting. It's not the entire story but it's a decent indicator.
@Kidfried
HP and Mario are not kids' games. Did you play Hogwarts? Have you played a Mario Kart? If the answer to either of these is no then please PLEASE don't have an opinion on them. And if you claim to have played them and still think they are childish then you really need to expand your horizons on what a game is.
Just because a game is not ultra-violent does not mean it's for children. These franchises and games are popular for a reason and it's not because Granny is accidentally buying them for gifts.
Hogwarts looks amazing. I'd have bought it if they'd actually put the whole game on the disc.
@WizzNL Well, Microsoft has touted 6 million players, so you do the math...
And who is still buying mario kart at this point
