PS Plus Premium hasn’t quite delivered on the value Sony perhaps promised prior to the top-tier’s release, but in the manufacturer’s defence, it has continued to iterate upon its PS1 and PSP emulator – and pretty much all of the first-party games it’s ported have Trophies these days. That continues to be true with the release of Kurushi Final and Ape Escape Academy today – both of which have silvery-blue pots to unlock.
In the case of Kurushi Final, the sequel to Intelligent Qube, there are 20 gongs to grab – almost half of which pertain to completing every stage in the game. Ape Escape Academy, meanwhile, tasks you with winning all minigames – including cleaning your car in record time in the amusingly named Gran Turismonkey mode. None of these Trophies are likely to cause you too much trouble to be honest, it’s just a case of setting aside the time to play through the titles.
Unfortunately, it looks like Bandai Namco has once against opted against including digital trinkets in its duo of PSP re-releases Tekken 6 and SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny, both of which will also be available to download later today. Will you be aiming to unlock these Platinum Trophies? Let us know in the comments section below.

It’s a real shame that Sony didn’t include a condition for all retro titles that launched on the Premium service to have a requirement for Trophies to be included. I would have loved to have gone for Platinums for both of Namcos releases this month.
Man I really loved the psp era. So many fantastic games. Although I wasn't the biggest fan of ape escape academy, it was responsible for introducing me to the franchise so I'm thankful for that😂
Good, it’s essential to me that any game I play has, not only a narrative campaign, but also a trophy campaign. Sometimes the latter is even more challenging and fun than the former. If a game doesn’t have a trophy campaign it is half a game to me and I will not play it. This is especially the case with old games I’ve finished before. Glad to see Sony are putting the effort in, and I understand why they didn’t mandate it given they want to grow the library as quickly as possible, but it’s still sad for me to see games where that extra tiny bit of effort hasn’t been taken.
@Bionic-Spencer Unfortunately, it's possible those games may not have released at all if Sony made a Trophies requirement.
We just have to hope they maybe one day get patched. We know this is possible because Sony's done it too.
I know itll probably never happen but would love to see the psp's ea sports big titles added.
@Bionic-Spencer Its actually great because the lackluster PS2 lineup was because Devs didnt want to deal with the hassle of adding Trophies
Tekken doesn't have trophies...I am sad 😔
I find it very hard to play a game without trophies nowadays. That's a me thing, others won't agree. But they give you a sense of progression and achievement that I simply never used to have.
Premium still isn't selling me on that price rise...
Guess I'll be opting against downloading the namco titles then. Broken Destiny wasn't particularly a good Soul Calibur and I have no idea why they bothered to make it. Tekken 6 is good, but the appeal of the PSP version was to practice on the go. I have better versions of Tekken 6.
I'm holding off playing Herc's Adventures for serious due to no trophy support at this time.
@Bionic-Spencer Agreed. I'd rather have LESS third party games WITH trophy support than more with NONE.
I still don't understand why all sony first party titles aren't on premium. Gran turismo 1-6 for example
@MrGilly69 Yes! I know Sony can't sell Gran Turismo 1-6 for licensing reasons, but I figured they would be safe under the PS Plus Premium umbrella. Kind of similar to the PS1 mini console and it's featured games (Tekken 3 is of those but no Gran Turismo).
