Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon has been confirmed for a PS5 release late next year. The open world action RPG, which is played from a first-person perspective, has been in early access since March on PC, where it's racked up mostly positive reviews.
"Step into a dark reimagination of Arthurian legends in this first person, open world RPG. Explore a world stuck in everlasting autumn, witness falling legends and make meaningful choices woven into a complex, branching storyline," reads the game's official description.
Based on what we've seen of Tainted Grail, it has the potential to be a bit of a cult hit, but it probably is in need of some additional love and care before its console release in Q4 2024. Hopefully things go smoothly for Polish developer Awaken Realms Digital over the coming months.

Awaken Realms is a large campaign board game company and makes excellent games. They also own Gamefound which is a board game centric Kickstarter. They're a pretty neat company and hope to see this be a success for them.
Slightly janky looking far too ambitious RPG from Europe? We’re back!
Looking forward to this one!
It gives me TES + Kings Field vibes.
I'll put this in the same bracket as The Wayward Realms - RPGs that I'm hoping wil be amazing, but, we'll see what we see.
I hope it's great, but I also fully agree with the second last paragraph of this article.
@Shepherd_Tallon exactly what I was thinking. Like a modern day attempt at kings field.
Heavy Skyrim vibes from that. I’d try it.
First person would be good for vr. But I don't like first person games.
@CutchuSlow There's a pretty good dark fantasy / souls like called GrimLord on VR if that's your thing.
Jank and questionable animations in an indie game? Needs some love/cult hit at best.
Jank and questionable animations in a Bethesda game? GOTY contender, apparently.
@MFTWrecks i think you mean "Game of the generation" lol
Looks like a knockoff and mashup of other western open world RPGs, from the mechanics down to creature designs. Does not inspire confidence but would love for it to turn out decent.
Looks cool sadly I don't like first person games that much :/
Looks rough but promising if it’s written well and systems work.
Certainly has me interested, but I cannot see me pre-ordering this one. I need to see the reviews first, and maybe even a few patches too...
I will pick this up for sure. It has a better oblivion feel to it. The jank will be part of the charm.
Long as it has save state im there I prefer to save often and load where I left off.
@Sequel oh no, not for me. I don't have vr. Was just saying it would be good for vr. I'm not into souls like or anything dark. I like everything bright and colourful lol.
@CutchuSlow definitely don't play this one then haha.
