Complete with blocky character models and pre-rendered backgrounds, Crow Country is a promising PS1-style survival horror game. It's coming to PS5 in 2024, but you can give it an early shot thanks to a playable demo, which is out now on the aforementioned PlayStation platform — just in time for Halloween!
"The year is 1990. Edward Crow has disappeared. The owner of 'Crow Country', he has not been seen since he unexpectedly shut down his park two years ago. The silence is broken when a mysterious young woman named Mara Forest ventures into the heart of the abandoned theme park in order to find him," reads the title's official description.
Crow Country certainly looks the part, and we must admit that we're enjoying this uptick in PS1-styled projects. Hopefully this one hits home when it launches next year.

Looks great to me
Really like those graphics, like a mix of Final Fantasy VII and the Earthbound N64 prototype
I found the demo to be too clunky, but that might be part of the charm for some people.
For those looking for the demo and can't find it, when you find the game info page where you can add to wishlist, click the 3 dots on the right and it should show "demo" in a submenu. Sony should really fix this as it's not the most intuitive way to find it.
This looks radical! I love the updated retro inspired style. Reminds me of playing things like RE, or Parasite Eve. Even if it has tank controls i'm in!
Day one, for sure.
@EchoRange @Kanji-Tatsumi Not so sure. Definitely interested aesthetically, but it also has to be good.
Tried it. Looked fun bu the movement and especially aiming was horribly slow and clunky. Would probably buy if it was a bit sharper. And if the area of view was a little larger.
@Turion okay
