Publisher Merge Games and developer Infuse Studio have announced Spirit of the North 2, a sequel to the well-liked original adventure. A debut trailer tells us what to expect from the game, which has you playing as a cute fox with a glowing tail.
With a raven companion at your side, your quest is to restore the land's lost guardians. The sequel looks to expand on what came before with some new features. Your fox is fully customisable and will gain various new abilities as you progress through the story. The game is set within an open world, which you can explore freely, and special runes can be found to upgrade your fox's abilities. Oh, and it's being developed in Unreal Engine 5, so it should look great too.
There's little other information to go on right now, but it's coming to PS5 at some point in the future — presumably in 2024, though no date has been provided.
Anyway, are you excited for Spirit of the North 2? Tell us in the comments section below.

Unexpected and nice surprise. Liked the first one, definitely a buy for me.
Haven't played the first one yet but I believe it's on PS+, and definitely on my list
The first game was a real delight. Some sections toward the end could get laughably complex. I hope the sequel is more of the same but also a better platinum trophy hunt.
Ooooh....!
Spirit of the North 2 ! 😃
I already have the first game on PS5.
Definitely will getting the sequel on PS5 too.
I enjoyed the first game, but felt it was little 'rough' in some areas.
I'm looking forward to playing some more and I hope those rough pieces have been buffed till they shine in this new one
@Voltan. Unfortunately, the first game left the subscription service earlier this year.
Nice, I enjoyed the first one. Will probably play this at some point.
@Stevemalkpus Ah, that's too bad.
I'm still interested though, I'll add it to my wishlist and look for a sale.
What a great announcement, I hope it comes very soon. What a great gaming year this.
