Team 17 and The Game Kitchen have today announced a last-gen version of Blasphemous 2. The pixelated metroidvania sequel initially released in August on PS5 and other current systems, and now, nearly three months later, a PS4 port is on the way.
It's launching on 2nd November, 2023. The news comes from the above accolades trailer, which concludes with the last-gen release date. Speaking of accolades, the game is fantastic — we absolutely loved it in our review of the PS5 version.
In case you're unaware, the Blasphemous series is a side-scrolling action series with religious themes and some pretty horrific imagery. The sequel has you return to the role of The Penitent One, starting you off with one weapon and eventually outfitting you with many, each with a unique traversal mechanic as well as combat advantages, obviously. If you like a challenge and don't mind some freaky enemies, this is a real winner.

I had no idea that it wasn't on PS4 already, I just assumed that it was. I played the game on Switch and absolutely loved it, It's easily one of the best metroidvanias on the market. Which isn't too surprising considering how good the original one was
@Tchunga Snap, I picked this up on Switch Day #1 - being a huge fan of the original.
Overall I think it was a slight improvements over B1, albeit slightly easier... until the penultimate boss (Evernisto?) which was ridiculously difficult!
Great game, surprised not on 'last gen' already?
Very cool, hope they add digital cross buy
I will be there day one, guaranteed. (Apologies to the Playstation fam, but I have yet to won the fiver. Soon, though, very soon.)
I dont understand why it was not already on ps4. The game is great but its hardly pushing the ps5 in any way at all.
