PSVR2 has been trucking along fairly well this year, and it looks like December will end things with a double bill of notable games. In addition to zombie blast-'em-up Arizona Sunshine 2, publisher Perp Games has announced the acclaimed Vertigo 2 will launch on 12th December 2023.
Perp made the announcement on its socials today:
As well as the digital release next month, a physical version will be hitting retail a couple of months later, on 9th February 2024.
If you're unaware of the game, it's a sci-fi, first-person shooter adventure that's very well regarded on PC. It features a 10-hour campaign in which you explore a range of interesting environments, blast away varied enemies, and engage in larger-than-life boss battles.

If Sony is serious about VR maybe purchasing a dev/ publisher like Perp Games might be wise before meta acquires them.
I hope you review it. It's been a while since you've reviewed a VR game and this looks good.
Made by single man dev team as well....this guy is talented!perp need to get this right as there's been to many high profile duds on psvr2 lately.....put it this way I've just bought a quest 3 and I've been a hard-core psvr1/2 player since 2017
can't wait playing this with haptics and Foveated, was holding off getting it on PC for a while, the first one is fantastic, and I heard this one blows that out the water...Christmas literally came early.
@Americansamurai1 yeah its crazy that they have bought random studios to support mobile and GaaS initiatives recently, but nothing for VR. Insomniac has an incredible VR department btw, but it looks like Sony has them fulltime on flat screen Marvel IP at the moment...let's hope that doesn't stay that way forever.
I played this on PC, it's incredible, I'm so glad that this is going to a wider audience, because this is one of the best VR games of all time. I don't exactly mind the simpler VR games on Quest, but we need more linear action games like this and Boneworks.
@ThorsHammer yeah pretty crazy to think that it's coming up 1 year and they have only really released horizon call of the mountain from first party. Really surprised that insomniac isn't doing anything VR.
@ROTTIEMAN16 have you picked up ac nexus yet? Really liking it so far
@ThorsHammer It looks like they have mostly given up on it, PSVR2 is entirely dependent on the charity of third parties. Sony has over 22 studios and they aren't willing to put even half of one on a VR project
@Deljo it's currently in the post, managed to get a brand new 512gb for £500,not expecting to be wowed by grfx but I'm looking forward to asgards wrath 2 and assassins creed plus there's a sale on for re4,into the radius and a few others I've not tried
@ROTTIEMAN16 Hope you enjoy it bud, its a decent upgrade on the quest 2. RE4 is fantastic and I'm enjoying assassins creed so far but only a couple of hours in. Definitely looking forward to asgards wrath 2 👍
@Juanalf
Not sure how big a difference that makes. Every platform is dependant on third parties, and PSVR2 has the headwind of Quest 3 behind it now for getting the best ports. One or two big games a year from Sony won’t make or break what is an excellent platform.
Another great game to get in December. What with this, arizona sunshine 2(which looks fantastic) and help wanted 2, it's going to be an expensive month.
I really don’t think the PSVR2 situation is so dire that it warrants jumping ship to Quest 3. With few exceptions, the best Quest games seem to be making their way to PSVR2 and in better (albeit wired) form.
Meanwhile the PSVR2 exclusives, while few, are truly outstanding and leverage the PS5 hardware to achieve things that would be impossible on the standalone Quest (especially since all Quest games currently have to be able to run on Quest 2). Most of the Game Awards VR GOTY nominees are PSVR2 exclusives. Not to mention, the Quest 3 launched without a single big game that shows off the hardware.
There are definitely some good things about the Quest 3 and I can certainly see the benefit of having both. But the grass isn’t necessarily greener over on that side.
Anyway, looking forward to this game!

For the first 6 months of PSVR2's life, you could only buy it from Sony Direct, no online retailer was allowed to stock it. That will have made a massive difference to the scalpers.
@ThorsHammer GT7 and a firewall ultra are also both 1st party (albeit one of those not living up to expectation). Rather than studio perhaps the focus should be on what's exclusive, where you can throw REVillage and shortly RE4 into the mix, which were both heavily funded by Sony.
A roadmap for new titles is so overdue though, although that extends to flat PS5 games too. Sony has been coasting lately and not showing very much at all that's in the pipeline.
Let the Negative Nancys drone on all they want about DOA, quest this and that, blah blah blah.
Im really looking forward to this game in December 😀
Then bulletstorm in January
And the newly announced Arken Age looks pretty awesome too.
@TrickyDicky99 I feel like every single one of your comments on PSVR2 news articles are the same.
@hotgoomba 🤣🤣 it’s the same 3 comments over and over and over again - psvr2 doa / price too high / quest and pcvr is better.
He seems to spend more time putting negative comments on psvr2 articles than playing on his beloved quest
@maybemaybemaybe I'm aware (although Firewall is second party), just I'm surprised they haven't bought any studios based on their VR content with all the recent purchases, but then they buy random stuff like FireWalk, Haven and Savage for mobile and GaaS initiatives...although thinking out loud, FireSpirite could've counted as a VR buy, even though it seems they have them on a flatscreen and a Gaas game next instead. I'm not complaining, PSVR 2 is the best headset I've owned, just bummed it doesn't seem like Sony have their top tier first party studios working on much related, even in the PSVR 1 days they had Studio London and Team Asobo dedicated to that platform. Then again, what most of first-party is developing now is a mystery even for flat games!

The sheer variety of game mechanics, environments and characters/enemies in that trailer is staggering. And when you consider that this game was made by a sole developer.. it's mind bending.
@TrickyDicky99 I'd rather keep my head buried in my PSVR2 headset. I'm now playing RE8 for the very first time, and dude... I'm genuinely having the time of my life when it comes to videogames. This is my child's dream come true.
And to think RE4 is just around the corner... and I obviously haven't touched the flatscreen version... gives me the chills (quite literally).
