Larian Studios has (finally) announced the physical release of Baldur's Gate 3. The so-called Deluxe Edition comes with the game on two (!) PS5 discs, which are packaged along with a bunch of extras. You get a three-disc soundtrack, a map, a load of stickers, several patches, a mind flayer poster, and a collectable box.
The Deluxe Edition is currently up for pre-order on Larian's own website, priced at $79.99 / €79.99 (which is around £70). It's expected to ship in "Q1 2024".
Just to recap, Baldur's Gate 3 launched on PS5 back in September, but until now, it's only been available digitally through the PlayStation Store. Fans have been calling for a physical release ever since, and now it's finally happening.

I already got BG3 on pc, but I'm tempted to get this..
Will be buying this day one 😎
Disc and good reviews = i'll buy it for my PS5
Cue 60 comments reiterating that they waited for the disc version
So not an actual just normal edition?
Should sell extremely well.
Any steelbook editions?
@DonaldMcRonald No, Xbox discs have 50 GB space only, not 100 GB like PS5 ones.
You'll see it on many games that pass 50 GB, the Xbox version comes with 2 discs.
The only thing I want to hear from Larian right now is that they're fixing their currently broken game (Act 3 anyone?) which was fine before the latest hotfix. So yeah, I don't care about a physical edition that 6 people have been waiting for. Fix your game.
Well, if it makes you feel any better, @Rjak, I have thus far bought:
The Early Access version of the game on the PC.
The full Collector's Edition for the PC.
The full Collector's Edition for the PS5.
The Deluxe Edition for the Xbox.
I absolutely love Larian's games, and have set about collecting their Collector's Editions. The ones I have bought will remain unopened.
I learnt the hard way not to hesitate to buy them as they always sell out very quickly, and I deeply regret having failed to take the opportunity to buy the Fane Mask Collector's Edition for Divinity Original Sin when I had the chance. I won't make that mistake again.
Now, I am holding out hope that Larian will offer a full Collector's Edition for the Xbox too so as to complete my set. I know many will consider this madness, but it makes me happy...! 😊
@tangyzesty I've been through Act 3 twice with zero issues, other than some minor screen tearing along the bottom of the screen at times. What are you on about?
Count me in as i'll be able to get it cheaper by shopping around. I dont usually play these kind of rpg's but this really does look brilliant.
Bought it digital otherwise would be all over this but can't justify buying it twice 😅
Any chance of just a normal priced normal version without all the mostly useless junk? I know I’m being a bit picky, but can’t they make enough money just releasing a normal disc version day one rather than all these staggered releases and collectors editions?
The latest patch has caused some problems in the game, @Deadhunter. Myself and a couple of mates are playing through Act 2 on the PC and now whenever one of us kills an enemy, the other two get stuck for about 10 seconds looking at a close-up of the corpse. More often than not, we end up with the camera fixed on the crotch, of all things, and you cannot pan away until the person that did the killing ends their turn! So yes, the latest patch has introduced a few issues, but I'm sure Larian will fix them pretty quickly, and regardless, the game is far from unplayable...
I will be buying it just to support choice!when we get to the point where all we have is the PS store people will soon realise choice wasn't such a bad thing
@Dusk_Actual and that is a problem why?
Honestly not a bad package for the price.
It's just over £90 with shipping. Thanks but no thanks - I don't want all the extra tat.
Glad I waited. 💪
The additions are just junk tbh, but since it's "just" 80$/€ it's passable I guess.
Was hoping for a d&d campaign book based on the game, a DM screen and a set of fancy dice... you know, actually useful stuff. What should I do with patches and posters, I'm not 12 anymore.
I would have liked to be buying it in a few weeks time because now I have to talk myself out of buying the digital version for a few more months potentially.
Unicorn Overlord got their special edition right, it comes with an actual card game. Also loved the Witcher 3 expansion codes that came with real Gwent cards. Those are extras that make sense for me.
Man, for an $80 purchase, this seems like an amazing deal with tons of awesome stuff. When most companies want you to buy a $100+ deluxe edition with just the dlc season pass while this is giving the goodies that would only be in the most expensive of expensive collectors editions, this is an awesome thing that Larian is doing. They seem to just be hitting the right notes constantly recently
@ROTTIEMAN16 didn’t mention any problems. Just predicted the future.
WTH?!
I remember reading on their website that they don't have any plans to release BG3 in a physical format, which was surprising, but because of that, i then decided to buy it in a digital format...
This is so annoying, as i would've waited.
N.i.c.e. thats the way i like it.oh yeah thats definitely good news.word up son
@Fiendish-Beaver nah man, that’s not madness. If those collector editions make you happy, keep at it. They’re pretty cool IMO.
@Fiendish-Beaver Wow, nice!
I’ve just pre ordered. Heads up to any one from the UK. Total cost with shipping and taxes it comes to exactly 99.99 euros which is £91.
Yes! Finally some good gaming news! Preorder secured, let's goooo!
This is actually pretty cool, they could have given a basic key on a disc, which then would allow you to download the game and play, but only if the game is in the drive.
However by shipping on 2 discs, it proves you are receiving the complete game on disc, and probably a very highly patched version too rather then just v1.0.
Larian are now even cooler in my cool book.
I will definitely get this! I have not played it because no physical edition was available but now I am excited!
A deluxe edition for only $10 more than standard game prices? Good deal!
$20 for shipping… WTF
Edit: still ordered lol
Damn xbox gets a win and a loss at the same time 😅
I know there's no statue, but still, the fact that this Deluxe Edition is only $80 makes others that are sometimes several times that expensive comically overpriced.
FINALLY! One of the highest rated games needed a physical release.
Interesting that it's a collectors edition, mega-posh bundle for the same price as a bog-standard Sony Studios release.
this would have been nice at launch. If I can sell my PSN purchase, I would buy this on disc but I aint buying same game twice.. who got money for that.
I'm not paying £20 postage 😂
Seems to be 3 discs on Xbox.
The PS5 compression delivers.
Nice, gonna snag it down the line
I noticed the Xbox version has 3 discs, I assume it is, therefore, the best version.
Ordered mine! (And yes, I was waiting for the option of a physical edition before buying).
No. The extras are complete tat, and I've no interest in the soundtrack. I always mute or turn way down the music in games, so why would I want 3 CDs of it? £20 for postage is a bit of a joke too. I'll buy the digital edition when I can.
Any chance of a tat-less edition? I guess £70 isn't a terrible price, but I never go for these big deluxe packages; I just want the game
@Splat Already sold out
@Deadhunter I don't know if you did the quest with the artist and his "patron", but the FPS in the house drops to maybe single digits...? There are also a number of audio bugs.
@Oz_Momotaro Too bad they aren't selling this in stores or online places like Amazon.
Of course week after I finally convinced myself to get digital version they are releasing physical edition, splendid.
I was tempted to get this just for the soundtrack, but now I've found it streaming on Tidal so that's £91 saved.
@MattBoothDev I wouldn't generally, however given the added price if you wanted to resell it after playing it would be incorporated into that sale price.
@Wallo I tend not to resell games after I've bought them so that's not a factor for me.
