Whoever's running the PlayStation UK X/Twitter account deserves a commemorative plaque or small trophy for creating another viral, debatably juvenile social media moment. Understanding the assignment perfectly, we've predictably taken the bait; PlayStation's UK mouthpiece asks (in the context of PSVR2): Does busting make you feel good?
Of course, upon hearing that line, our mind (pure as the driven snow) immediately went to the iconic Ray Parker Jr. line from the Ghostbuster's theme song, an absolute banger and an ode to how good it feels to bust ghosts: "Bustin' makes me feel good." This seems like a perfectly reasonable allusion, considering that Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord was released last month for PSVR2, but we've not yet had the pleasure of busting any ghosts ourselves.
We aren't precisely sure why, but for some reason, others thought there was something comical about that phrasing, and at the time of writing, the post itself has breached the 20 million view mark. Previously, PlayStation UK advised fans to "treat yourself to 19 inches of Venom" about a Marvel's Spider-Man 2 statue, which similarly caused a stir.

I don't want to say anything that will get me banned 😂🤣
Busting out of prison IS a very relieving experience, thanks for asking
Yes, Khayl Adams for PushSquare. Busting makes me feel good. REAL GOOD. In fact, I'm boutta bust right now. Can you feel it, Mr Krabs?
That image certainly doesn't.
I ain't fraid of no ghost
Not a fan of the edgy, sexual innuendo style of marketing myself. But that's just me.
That post-bust clarity is what makes me feel good.
During No Nut November as well 🤣
@zupertramp
This is hardly edgy, there is way more explicit sexual innuendo out there.
Busting is NUTS! xD
Busting just makes me feel more sleepy than anything else😂
I was almost at the end of the article before I got it 😂
Then again, it took me 35+ years to get what that one ghost was doing to Ray...
@zupertramp what sexual innuendo? 'Busting' is a direct quote from the film and song, and was never used to insinuate anything at any point by anyone related to GB. All PS have done is quote a world famous line from the film/song the context of which is established and understood. Any innuendo is completely in your mind. And those fools on Twitter trying to make it dirty. You dirty boy! 😆😆
@PegasusActual93 well, I mean, if it's explicit it's not an innuendo.
In any case I'd say alluding to orgasms to sell a video game seems edgy to me but this could be a difference between marketing in the US vs marketing in the UK.
@riceNpea can't tell if you're playfully trolling or not. but I agree it's completely in my mind... because that's how innuendos work.
@zupertramp not trolling, am playful.
So if it's in your mind, which it is, why are you claiming it's edgy marketing? It not. Its referencing the most famous phrase of the entire franchise, which itself is nothing to do with sexual innuendo and has never been used that way by anyone related to the film, song, or marketing of either.
@riceNpea the song's line, is itself, an innuendo. I'd also argue this is a fairly obscure line. It's not in a verse and not part of chorus. But that's certainly up for debate.
But by "in my mind" I mean that's how you get by with an innuendo. It's not explicit but makes a connection to things we all know to mean other things... thus we all get the meaning (in our minds) without being overtly vulgar.
And there was me thinking innuendo was an Italian suppository. 🤷🏻♂️
Fairly obscure line?! It's the most quoted line from in reference to the franchise and the most recognisable, which is why PS used it and don't need to qualify it as it is implicitly understood to mean Ghostbusters.
So how is it 'edgy' to directly quote one of the most famous lines in recent movie history, when you are writing a tweet that requires the audience to be able to easily recognise the games you are referencing. Even if I agreed with you that they used it as innuendo, is that what you define as edgy?
Hey wait, the Arnie film Jingle All The Way is on TV, dirty buggers. He's jingling his balls! 😆
@Sequel precisely. Dirty boys and girls 😆
@riceNpea you could literally go up to anyone on the planet and say "who you gonna call?" and they'd probably reply Ghostbusters. On the other hand if you went up to strangers exclaiming "busting makes me feel good" you'd probably end up in police custody.
Ray Parker Jr guys. That is all.
@zupertramp why would stranger's not know the busting line from Ghostbusters if they know the who you gonna call line? Both are from the same song, and both are recognisable as such.
@riceNpea that's what I'm trying to say. I'd argue the busting line isn't as recognizable. I didn't recognize it when I read the headline in fact. Never seen it referenced in any promotional material outside of this tweet either.
We can agree to disagree on that though. My familiarity with something isn't the end all be all for how common it is for everyone else.
First we have 19 inches
Second we have busting
So third is gonna bursting?
Anyway, kudos to the person who responsible manage it.
You not recognising it didn't make it innuendo on the part of PS. That's the point. It wasn't innuendo, it was a recognisable line related to the franchise. You, like those on twitter, it seems are unfamiliar with it and turned it into sexual innuendo. That's on you not PS 👍
yea, and i get real hungry afterwards
for more content, i mean!
@zupertramp
Explicit as in referring to subtlety, and yes because the US and UK totally don't both use sex jokes/innuendo to advertise s--t right?
On the off chance that anyone hasn't seen this absolute masterpiece; https://youtu.be/0tdyU_gW6WE
It does, especially when I’m still inside………

You lot haven’t reviewed a psvr2 game since October 17th despite there being a lot of great releases. And then you’ll run another article about how there are no games.
PSVR2
You'll bust a fat one while playing it
Genuinely, very funny commentary. Well written.
I would love it if you actually supported VR. Took the time to play these games and offer insightful commentary, interviews and tips. You know... journalism. Actually, hold on, you probably don't know.
And before you ask, yes, busting your balls makes me feel... hopeful.
