Are the Black Friday "Sale" prices in the room with us
Might snag Diablo or Mirage. I'm cautiously optimistic for Mirage.
To me too high prices yet, was expecting much more discounts.
Still no 50% off TLoU1? When the old version is free?
Judging by those price, today is Gray Friday
In other news, total domination of the market and complete vertical integration is bad for consumers.
@Mega-Gazz Good thing Sony is nowhere near that. Switch has more of the market and Nintendo is far worse when it comes to discounts.
@Mega-Gazz It really feels like Sony is going to stick to their guns and keep their 1st parties at Nintendo levels.
Don't blame them but it sucks
Wish they had ‘Black Friday Buybacks’ cuz MK 1 was such a digital stomach turning waste of $100.. Interested in AC: Mirage but I’m sure I can find a similar/better deal at a physical retailer
@Oz_Momotaro exactly there is no reason to purchase digital versions unless you got suckered into buying the digital only console and now realise you are paying over the odds for new games. This sale is a bit crap to be honest as most of those games can be bought cheaper online if you look around. I love the way the subscription discounts fail to mention you can't take advantage of them if you already have an active sub. Nothing for me here.
Anyone else tired of the same games being discounted but others still not coming down in price for these types of sales?
I remember reading a while ago that Sony has control over which titles can be offered at a discounted price.
@Oz_Momotaro My PS Plus Extra is still active and it gives me the option to buy again at the sales price (£74.99).
@NinjaSixx
Let me fact-check that for you:
FFXVI - £38.99( £39.99 on Amazon Black Friday sale)
Assassin’s Creed Mirage - £35.99(£34.99 Amazon BF sale)
EA Sports FC - £34.99(£58.78 on Amazon)
Diablo IV - £41.99(£56.99 on Amazon)
Mortal Kombat is cheaper on Amazon, FFXVI and RE4 are both more expensive on Amazon.
You can also buy PSN credit from Shopto for up to 12% off(no Black Friday sale yet) and get another 12% discount on all those digital prices.
Not many psvr2 titles discounted🤦♂️
Just had a quick look and I must say I’m a bit disappointed by what’s on offer…Maybe my mind will change tonight when I have a more detailed look…
@ChrisDeku really? I checked mine this morning and its still £99. No option for a discount.
So wish that Sony would have been a little more aggressive with the Black Friday discounts.
@hbkay
@Oz_Momotaro same here..i only have the option to continue at the same price.
Every time I look at pricing in these sales it makes me glad I made the wise decision to get the physical disc PS5.
I will however be picking up A Fisherman’s Tale for under £6. VR is the one place game prices are consistently low enough (plus physical is harder to come by).
Well, I never… who knew corporations would wring consumers dry, once they had us in a digital-only chokehold surprised face
@Oz_Momotaro @Northern_munkey I just extended my Plus Extra sub. for £75 (25% off) through the PS app. I had 2 weeks left in my subscription.
@NinjaSixx There are many reasons to go digital. I, for example, have two households with a PS5 in each of them, without digital games it would be a pain to travel back and forth with a pack of game disks. I also like to switch daily from a big long adventure-like game and a quick sports game, I would need every single day to swap disks, multiple times.
Picking up Final fantasy 16 and AC Mirage, maybe something for the PSVR 2 as well. And renewing ps plus for a year
@NinjaSixx I don't buy many games, not sure if Sony likes me too much. I buy a few selected digital games when they are discounted and play them for months. I'm cutting costs a LOT
@Oz_Momotaro I think its because you have over 12 months left. I was able to resub with a month left at the sale price. Essential to essential.
Sure I said it on a comments thread when EAFC24 was released that, like a sucker, I will end up buying it during the Black Friday sale. Happens every year.
So I'm just here to say, like a sucker, I bought EAFC24 during the Black Friday sale.
But, due to credit from stars and cheap ShopTo vouchers I got it for £13.99 so if it's complete dog 💩 then I won't feel so bad.
@hbkay @ThaBEN And it's a good time to pick up RE4 ahead of the VR patch.
Would be much appreciated if you could include European discounts as well. I have no clue how much these games costs in euros.
Is the deluxe version of gow ragnarok worth the extra? Or is vanilla fine for the price? Only on ps4 not 5.
@NinjaSixx Clearly the price got adjusted after I typed it, it will be adjusted in the future too, crazy I know.
Just to tell some people, even though Sony 1st party titles are still very expensive, some quality third party titles are at an all high discount.
Just bought Everspace 2 for £26.99.
Got a Portal and pulled the trigger on Cyberpunk 2077 for £23.99.
@NinjaSixx Even if this one game is cheaper that would still leave the majority of the games I checked not cheaper on amazon and even before you apply the 12% discount for digital credit too. So your point was actually completely wrong, no? Many of the games on the PS sale are currently much cheaper than Amazon.
in Croatian PS store, unfortunately, we have not had any discounts for a while now, only full prices.
I would like to buy God of war Ragnarok (ps store £43.34 / argos £36.99) both ps5 version.
Ghost of tsushima ps5 £30 from argos. I can only see full price in ps store now.
I can have further 7% discount from argos having physical disks. Or ps wallet top up discount.
If you are from the UK and have disk version of ps5, just spend extra 10 mins to see all the deals out there. You might find a better deal than digital only.
@NinjaSixx some people had the choice of buy Digital PS5 or don't buy it at all. These things were extremely scarce for the first year and a half and scalpers were charging crazy money for either version.
In the end I'm glad I went digital. I game share with a friend so we split the cost of most games. And I also now own the Portal so when I'm playing that away from the house I don't need to worry about switching disks. All my games are digital so they're ready to go.
@NinjaSixx You said they're all cheaper on Amazon, that's factually wrong. You could be an adult about being wrong instead of acting like a buffoon.
I bought Mortal Kombat 1…off Amazon.
Ragnarok on about the same sale price as ffxvi, yes very nice.
@WolfyTn I thought the same, re physical releases. If anything, a digital sale means that physical prices generally drop further, so might be a good time to check out the ol 'computer exchange'
@ChrisDeku
I can find FFXVI for €28 and Diablo for €39.
Before you go off about the difference in currency it is cheaper than the digital sale price here.
So with the exception of fifa, and honestly you'd have to be a knob to buy that anyway (shoutout the dude in the comments here who said he bought it), you can save a pretty penny. Have to fight the urge to pick up ffxvi myself. Could trade it in and save some more money as well.
When you narrow it down to full games only it's only just over 450 games, much of what's on sale is DLC and game bundles.
Probably one of the worst Black Friday sales. Same sale prices every week. For example, Sekiro for $30. I hope that there is going to be something better. This doesn't feel like a special sale.
I seem to recall that these prices used to drop to something like £25, maybe? This just looks dire.
Red dead redemption still £15 overpriced
Forspoken is £10 in curry’s.
There are some great prices….for games most people have already played.
Other than that, yikes.
Several from my wishlist on sale. I’ve got more than I can play already but $30 for Crisis Core and Plague Tale Requiem is tempting. But I think I’ll wait. Just like I’ve waited for GoW Ragnarok
I just noticed Forspoken is £9.99 on amazon aswell
Also another couple that may be of interest to people is FF16 for £32, the MGS collection for £35, Gotham Knights for £15, Death Stranding directors cut £18, dmc5 £15 and many more are all on Amazon
@Cherip-the-Ripper I fully accept being called a knob mate, no worries.
I do it to myself every year.
I can see Gran Turismo 7 ps5 for £29.99 (physical). Which is much better deal than the previous £45-50.
Casual car simulator gamers... what do you think about this game?
@Cherip-the-Ripper If you want to steer away from Amazon (as I generally try, for ethical reasons, haha), many of those prices are also replicated across Currys, Argos and other outlets on physical. Ff16 for about £32, amongst others, I'm sure! Now is a good time to check online or in your local stores
Basically the same games that have been on sale in every other recent PS store sale for the same discount. Pretty lame
There are much better discounts on physical versions of these games.
I am in the app in US. Many games are on sale in black Friday tab , but some don't have an actual sale price. Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart for example doesn't have a sale price. Are they still updating the sale prices?

Resident Evil Village for € 15,99 is very tempting. I heard the Gold edition is the better choice though, so I’m not sure yet.
@silverspeed That’s an absolute steal, no-brainer. And if you don’t like it you can easily resell it for at least the same price.
I try selecting the ps+ black Friday box, and just get a 'something went wrong' message. Still not a month on premium left active.
Ah nice, GT7. I have not seen it on sale before. Unfortunately can’t budget for it right this moment. Hopefully it comes up again around Christmas…
I got Diablo 4 physical for £35 the other week - quite enjoying it!
@silverspeed nice one, just checked and I can see physical GT7 is on sale.. might have to find the funds for that low, low price (£30 at Argos, where are you seeing it?)
@Dudditz09 takes one to know one. I bought it me self 🥲
Granted, it only cost me €1 because I used rewards points.
But I'm making excuses here it's still €1 too much 😂
Happy gaming man
So i got Playstation Plus Premium and it runs till February 2024 and i canceled it cuz the price increase p* me of. I dont see any PS Plus offers in Black Friday Deal!? Not in the App not on PS5. Am i too blind to see or is it just not there?
Avoid Dirt 5 in the sale. It’s utterly broke atm. Game crashes every time you try to launch it brought it last night and still haven’t played it. Annoying as hell. Codemasters need to fix this
For anyone thinking of getting Immortals of Aveum, if you download the trial, it allows you to buy the Deluxe edition for $36 (only clicking a link in the trial). Only $1 more than the regular version that’s on sale for $34.99.
@kyleforrester87
I can buy Gran Turismo 7 for £30 at Argos/Curry's/smyths toys. And others sell it between £33-35 .
Just check which one is good for you as some cost more ( because of the delivery).
I can pick it up from Argos today without extra cost, and I can have 6% off with cashback.
So, you are from UK... you can get some Switch bank bonus, so in theory you could have it for less.
@Mega-Gazz PlayStation has much better sales than Xbox. I prefer playing third parties on Series X but end up playing a bunch on PlayStation simply because the sales are better.
Sale prices at £40 !!! I remember not too long ago AAA games in a sale attracted a price of £19. I think greed has got the better of the publishers, the high prices then drive people not to buy as many games, and then the overall revenue falls i.e. the volume dip is greater than the price rises.
Ultimately the user loses out on playing games and the developers lose out - sometimes with their jobs.
Publishers really need to get another spreadsheet, one that looks at overall revenue and long term growth, not micro fluctuations in profit on a handful of sales.
I figured it would be wishful thinking to hope Baldur's Gate 3 or Armored Core 6 might get a small discount.
Also just friendly reminder for those who are considering pulling the trigger on some things. Be wary of overlapping sales that may have deluxe editions on sale for the same game. Last year I got burned when I bought Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga and Sonic Origins in the BF sale for $29.99 and $19.99 respectively. Two days before the BF sale ended, another one started which overlapped. Both games had the deluxe editions on sale for $34.99 and $24.99 respectively. I was SO pissed lol.
So maybe consider waiting until the sale is almost over before doing anything.
Need for Speed Unbound looks pretty good for £13.99
K so I went a bit mad on this one, not something I'd normally do.
But bought resident evil 4 deluxe edition (and the seperate ways dlc)
Horizon burning shores for when I finally get a ps5
And God of war ragnarok!
£90 something quid spend which is unheard of for me!
I looked over the sale last night and was totally underwhelmed. I'll probably look again to make sure but don't think I'll be buying anything.
"Huge PS Store Black Friday Sale"
"Red Dead Redemption — £31.99 / $39.99"
LOL
It's a 13 year old game..
@Dman10
I had the same issue today in the app... didn't show any prices. All I needed to do is to refresh. (Or use other tab and go back again).
@SweetChaos
There is a cheeky way to see discount on the app. But I almost got heart attack because it showed £100 charge first..
It doesn't show any discount until you reactivate your membership in the app and then select "subscription settings", then "change plan".
@Futureshark
If you are interested nfs:unbound, 'Palace version ' is on sale over a week or two for £15.99.
I was tempted to buy it. I was able to try it for a month for 79p. I saved up and buying GT7 instead
@WolfyTn Black Friday Buybacks is a hell of an idea, and I wish it was a thing
I think I might grab The Witcher 3 complete and sink another 150 hours into what’s been my favorite ROG for a long time.
Then again, I might not.
can anyone recommend some of the VR2 games in this sale?
@NielsNL
They don't tell me Canadian prices either so I just log onto the store and check myself.
I'm finally going to buy Disco Elysium and see what all the fuss is about.
It should probably be noted that with a lil searching all of these games can be found physical and cheaper since the psn normally represents the high end of sales since they can't undercut boxed sales
I might snag AC: Mirage for that price.
@NinjaSixx but you can buy store credit at a discount quite frequently. Then there's PlayStation stars points along with PlayStation Visa points (if you have those). I'd say it all shakes out about the same if you play things right, with the exception of resale... physical does have that advantage.
Also, for some of us, the PlayStation store doesn't collect sales tax so that's basically a 10 percent discount where I live.
@NoHope not sure if it’s on sale but I can recommend Hubris. Recently platted it and enjoyed it very much
@nookie_egg hehe, im the same, i try to delay as much as i can, waiting for low prices.
Well you got good games that work well on ps4 too.
For me, if i do spend more on a sale, ill stretch it out over the sale period so it hurts less.
Some good games at a fair price in there for me, marvel midnight suns, mafia1 remaster, pathfinder wrath of the righteous, the ps4 version of horizon forbidden west.
Last sale i got sbk22 for 8$, re3 remake.
@Jtheripper tbf the only reason I did is because I had 60 quid credit, the other 30 didn't hurt me that much 😂
@Mikey856
thanks. looks good, I will try Hubris, once it gets a bit cheaper.
