Off the back of Up receiving an age rating and then immediately being announced for PS Plus Premium, another three classic games look to be following the same process. All handed a Taiwanese age rating (the same as Up), it looks like PS1 title Buzz Lightyear of Star Command and PSP games Thrillville and Thrillville: Off the Rails are coming to Sony's subscription service soon.
Gematsu spotted the new listings, which hint at yet more support from Disney of Sony's subscription service. Buzz Lightyear of Star Command is a PS1 title that adapts the animated TV series of the same name, developed by Traveller's Tales. Meanwhile, the Thrillville games are similar to RollerCoaster Tycoon where you get to build your own theme park.
Given the quick turnaround of Up, it's possible these three games could be included in the PS Plus Premium update for December 2023, but then we've been in this sort of situation before and the classic titles have never materialised. Given the recent example of Up, though, there's a very good chance Sony has these older experiences in the pipeline.

Its nice that at least one company is happy to make some money off itβs back catalogue. Just one, Disney. π
"The year is 2077.
Cyberpunk was right on track, all humans have robotic implants.
Meanwhile, Sony is half way through porting their PS1 games catalogue to PS Plus Premium".
Finally, the PSP and PS1 classics all fans, new and old, have been waiting for!
I think I must have a different definition of the word "classic"
It would be really cool if Sony concentrated on launching games on PS Premium from the old Platinum Ranch from PS1s golden era. Games like Gran Turismo, Tekken 3, the Wipeout games, Colin McRae, Dino Crisis 2 and Silent Hill would all be amazing games for the service and I would gladly replay all of them. It would also be brilliant if Sony made it mandatory to add Trophies to the games as well. Being a Trophy Hunter myself, that would really get me into playing way more retro games on their service!
Vagrant Story is the one I want the most.
Legend of Dragoon was up there too, but that arrived eventually.
Come on. Any month now...
@bionic-spencer, they are 'classics' that you listed. Would love to replay the original GT and Colin McRae with π
Does anyone know why they removed Final Fantasy XIII from their streaming service (years ago before the PS5 was a thing) and still have not added it back.
I feel like the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy would make a great addition to PS plus (even if it's streaming only)
@shepherd_tallon, hell yeah. Even though VS was a niche title, it was imo a gamers' game. Long before the glut of soulslikes. And the first ever game i played with new game+.
@danipooo, thats unfortunate. I can only play ffxiii on xbox currently. Would be nice if all FF titles were more widely available on each individual platform.
It's so stupid that these games don't have trophies
Still hoping for Digimon world 1- 3.
@Michael2008ish "gamers' game"
I completely agree. That's an excellent way to put it.
I still have my old physical PS1 copy, but I'd love to be able to fire it up on PS5.
Rob form PlayStation Access did a video on it last year I think. I was almost in tears by the end.
Such a great gamers' game.
If disney is going hard, can we please get some form of split/second with trophies then? Never got the plat on that, but I'd give it a go again.
Come on, gaming gods!
I seriously thought it said Thrill Kill for a second lol, imagine that game being available again.
I got way too excited seeing that Buzz Lightyear game pop up
I really wish Sony would make it mandatory to have trophies for these games.
I hope this trend continues its waaaaayyy better than the Nintendo subscription without being able to buy them on their own. I played Ape Escape, had tons of fun and completed it. Thrillville is really cool also.
I still wonder what's taking them so long to add actual new PS2 games. I'm glad we're getting new PSP and PS1 games, but still...
Though nice to see Thrillbille again. I remember playing off the rails a lot as a kid on my wii. Kinda surprised to see that the psp version is kind of the same as the cpnsole version, which is great because I was worried that it was the same as the terrible DS port.
I'm stoked to get a free Jet Moto with trophies
We won't get a huge line up of everyone's favourites because sony are finding the cheapest possible licenses they can get just to add something to the premium lineup and pretend they are trying. Its pretty obvious at this stage they have had enough time now and the pattern is clear
@SoulsBourne128 I think the emulator that they used had some issues so Sony would probably need to ether get a new one or try and fix their old one.
I still have that Buzz Lightyear game. It's not a bad little shooter at all.
Very unimpressive.
They should bring back the wipeout and rollcage games.
I think I remember seeing that Buzz Lightyear game in stores back in the day. π
Thrillville yes please. Need a good legacy tycoon game. Aren't getting Roller Coaster Tycoon Xbox or Theme Hospital PS1/Theme Park PS1 why not Thrillville.
Would prefer Monsters Inc Scare Island out of licernsed Disney PS1 games. Toy Story ones were fine, Lilo & Stitch were ok but others were better of Hercules, Monsters Inc Scare Island and more. I like the unique ones of the licensed games where they get to use the universe a bit more than completely follow the movies. Same as some specials/bonus episodes of shows.
I just like Behaviour/A2M's attempt there. If no Scaler/Jersey Devil/Wet of their original games at least this Disney PS1/2 game. I like the level design/locations/mechanics a lot.
@Bionic-Spencer Racing games licenses aren't happening, that's pretty clear (also car brands wanting to only agree to current products/iconic models likely)/neither music either with WipEout is a challenge.
It's why I wonder about Flatout on PSP, Destruction Derby games on PS1, Ridge Racer got Ridge Racer 2 for PSP the best way to access most content of the series I think.
The rest well up to Capcom/Konami.
Then again the Disney licenses can't be cheap?
I know we will never see Coded Arms/Contagion from PSP on here because Konami don't care. If collections to resell them of the popular IPs I can see why they won't put them on the services (same with Spyro/Crash they have remakes now so PS3/Vita/original copies if want the OG versions) but otherwise if people have them a few times by now/want modern ways to play them/too expensive second hand or modern audiences get to play them for the first time or so yeah I can see why regardless of wants/hits us players want.
I don't mind these other games, they keep things interesting but that's just me. Not all are great of course but then again never expected Thrillville, most people think Tycoon as PC/people don't care for the genre/want story/whatever gameplay so it's better than nothing to offer of that sort. Also it's better than all hits then run out.
I mean even for Xbox so many gems can't access still. Couldn't care less about most of the hit games.
@Michael2008ish Would be nice, lot of work to add triggers/come up with them, otherwise retro achievements enabled on fan emulators for that experience instead.
As much as people joke about the game choices, I find it to be great for game preservation with these random titles
