Sony certainly won't mind, but its continued dominance over the USA's gaming sales data makes us sound like a broken record: the PS5 was the best-selling console in the country across both units purchased and dollar sales for yet another month. With the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 boosting it, the system surpassed both the Nintendo Switch and the Xbox Series X|S. Speaking of the web-slingers, the PS5 exclusive was the region's best-selling game for October 2023.
One of a number of new entries in the top 20 (gathered by Circana, formally NPD), Peter Parker and Miles Morales beat out competition from Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Assassin's Creed Mirage to top the list. Other newer titles include UFC 5 in seventh place, Sonic Superstars in ninth, and the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection taking 12th. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is already fourth in the list of the best-selling games of 2023 after less than one month on the market.
More noteworthy information includes how PS Plus has helped make The Callisto Protocol one of the most-played PS5, PS4 games of the month, while Roblox is already very popular on Sony's platforms.

Spider-man 2 is a really, really good game.
But without digital sales, it IS possible Mario Wonder has outsold Spider-Man 2, isn’t it?
Sonic Superstars was sort of a fart, so I’m not surprised it landed at #9.
Wouldn't be surprised if the Switch currently has almost 10 times the amount of Switch sold in the US compared to PS5s sold in the US and yet Spiderman 2 comes out on top. Weird to think but also not surprising either as Spidey2 is pure legit fun and 120hz, VRR and ray tracing all round on day one

Seeing The Crew outsell Forza is a surprise.
Given both GT and Forza's seeming underperformance with their newest entries, I do wonder if both first parties might pivot their racing studios away from the "simcade" racing genre that seems to be dying out, and focus more on arcade-style racers.

Elden ring is masterpiece
@somnambulance The guy who shares the data on twitter said, that SM2 is way above Super Mario. You have to consider that spidey sold the 4th most in 2023 in only one week. Mario isn’t even in top 20 with physical only.
@Greifchen Valid point. Mario’ll get there by the end of the year. I do wish Nintendo shared their digital sales in these things, so we could compare things with full data.

@somnambulance I'd assume the opposite tbh. Wasn't there some stat about how much higher % SM2 sales were on digital vs physical? I also would assume physical sales for games on Switch are a higher split vs PS5 physical sales, considering the lack of storage space.
Going by me as an example (and so obviously everyone else follows the same trend!!) I've never bought a digital Switch game (own the usuals like Mario, Mario Kart, few Zelda, Animal Crossing) but majority of my PS games are digital.
Of course this is massive guestimates.
