The usual PS Plus Essential monthly game switchover takes place tomorrow morning, leaving you less than 24 hours to claim the PS5, PS4 titles Sony had to offer to members for October 2023. Widely considered to be a pretty good month for the service, the games you need to redeem are:
- The Callisto Protocol (PS5, PS4) | Review
- Farming Simulator 22 (PS5, PS4) | Review
- Weird West (PS5, PS4) | Review
If you already have done, you're all set to gain the maximum amount of value out of your membership and redeem this month's selection also. That includes Mafia II: Definitive Edition, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, and Dragon Ball: The Breakers. They'll be available for download at no extra charge at around 10am local time.

Hopefully extra and premium is good this month. We know we're getting that tear down game.
Wouldn't wanna call Callisto great after trying it tbf
@Cherip-the-Ripper yeah, same here. It was actually quite disappointing and cra* imo
Bringing Farming Simulator into the world was one Switzerlands greatest shames.
@Cherip-the-Ripper yeah me too,not sure how it cost 100+ million to make. The fire effects especially looked very bad.
@Chapapa Don’t feel ashamed, it’s actually from Zürich.
@Max_the_German Damn, all those years I went through life thinking it was a German developer. Thanks for the headsup! I still remember awfully big masses of people begging for straw fedoras at the gamescom booths.
Are these games still playable after you’ve claimed them?
@burgerkingsauce Yup. They exist in the "permanent" vacuum of your library, even if you don't download them
Callisto was freaking amazing, its one of those cases where I trully do not get where the hate comes from.
kinda makes me regret not getting this at launch really, because it is honestly one of the better horror games that came out in a while.
Callisto not appearing on PS4. I guees it's just PS5? Or maybe it's a region thing.
@LordOfTurnips
Agreed. The hate for this game is unreal. I loved every second of it.
@Cherip-the-Ripper there was a moment when it began to show promise, it was the final stage
Bloody great game still have to play through the dlc meh it's what happens you clear it soon as you get it a few months later dlc lol I'm long out of it il have to start from the beginning, playing through Alan wake 2 some of the best jump scares ever 😂
@LordOfTurnips it's because people expected Dead Space, because every single gaming website consistently compared and hope how would it would be like dead space, something came and it wasn't dead space,.People were upset I guess, granted some performance issues when it came , but sadly that's a very very common issue,.but some games suffer backlash worse
@Uromastryx
Just finished it through PS Extra. Found it to be very solid, considering the harsh criticism it got at launch. Enjoyed how I would alternate during combat between melee and ranged in interesting ways depending on the scenario I found my self in, which I found well implemented. The game also looks and sounds excellent. Storywise the script is fine, interesting to the point of not being too cliche, but I do found the ending made the game feel incomplete, leaving the player on a "DLC cliffhanger". Other than that, I see it as a solid 8.
Edit: I agree with you. The habit of overcomparing one game to another, which translates later on into frustration, has become too common in this industry currently
Idk if I’d call Callisto Protocol great
@Capirdbara ending should have been definitely more " complete". I really enjoyed it overall,
Unfortunately I don't foresee a 2nd part
@Americansamurai1. The fire effects looked so shoddy. I’m surprised no one else mentioned it. One hundred million dollars and they couldn’t properly code realistic flames. Lucky there were no mirrors.
@Uromastryx
Yeah, you're exactly on point with that.
And since I only played it last month I assume that whatever performance issue it had was patched out. it ran super well and it was really engaging. Really cool game that absolutelly ISN'T dead space (but does have a lot of that vibe).
LOL, typical media, hyping/lieing about something to make it sound good...all those blow chunks...
Write the truth man, jeesh!
I’m playing the Dead Space Remake and I just know that Callisto is going to have a tough time to sustain my interest.
