Persona 5-2 in all but name, it's been confirmed Persona 5 Strikers has sold two million units worldwide. It's unclear whether PS Plus redemptions from January 2022 count towards the milestone, but producer Daisuke Kaneda is still pleased with the achievement.
On the Persona Channel, he said: "This work P5S was released on February 20, 2020. At the time, I said that it was rare to have so many "2"s, but thanks to everyone, we were able to welcome a new "2". P5S has sold over 2 million copies worldwide...I couldn't be happier. I would like to thank so many people for their support: thank you very much." The story of the Phantom Thieves then continues next week in Persona 5 Tactica.
Persona 5 Strikers released for PS4 in February 2021 (western launch) to widespread praise, switching up the turn-based RPG combat of the original for an action focus. We awarded the game an 8/10 and shared praise for its combat system, boss fights, and memorable character moments. "Persona 5 Strikers is a fantastic follow up to a beloved JRPG, carving out its own identity with an excellent action-based combat system. It presents the perfect excuse to hang out with the Phantom Thieves one last time, and does a great job of building upon the established characters and themes of its predecessor," we concluded.
As the title sells two million copies, Kaneds signs out saying: "Once again, thank you so much to everyone who supported us!" Were you one of those two million buyers? Let us know in the comments below.

Bought a copy myself. It's a great mix of Omega Force Action RPG style with Persona demon collection/fusion.
Fun to platinum also, though grindy.
Hated the combat and dungeon gameplay in general. I don't think it works as well as other musou sequels/spinoffs like Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes or Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
The story bits and presentation were pretty great, though.
im a fan of musou games. but this one, i couldnt finish it.
story wise, it felt like an anime OAV. you know, its not as good as the main series. A mix of fan service and a ''beach'' episode.
it was fun for a while.
@Ralizah I wasn't a fan of the gameplay either but I really just didn't like the story (it just felt weirdly basic) and especially some of the side quests where it's just, grab me a ***** apple please.
@Nepp67 The sidequests weren't great, either.
The story feels... unnecessary, but I guess I really liked spending time with that cast again. It felt like a fun side-story, and I really, really liked that we finally got another adult Persona user as a major character. I love how much the Omega Force sequels and spinoffs feel like extensions of the games they're based off of, too.
But man, it just wasn't fun to play for me.
What I dislike about this game the most is not featuring kasumi. And no continuation of the romance you picked.
@Ralizah Agreed that it felt unnecessary, P5 and Royal ended off with such a massive ending(Especially with the message that it was trying to send) that Strikers story feels like it shouldn't be there.
@RedRiot193 Persona 5 Strikers is actually a sequel to Persona 5 and not Persona 5 Royal. Also baring in mind, both Strikers and Royal were in development at the same time.
@Ena_Shinonome Doesn't matter. She could have been added as dlc. It's not like these companies are unfamiliar to that tactic.
