Bethesda has confirmed the native PS5 version of Fallout 4 will need to wait until 2024 as "a bit more time" is needed to get into shape. The expected news was shared on Twitter after no updates had been shared on the updated edition for over a year. Upon its official announcement in October of 2022, it was confirmed the PS5 version will have Creation Club content, a 4K mode, and bonus bug fixes.
With the original PS4 game capped at 30 frames-per-second with some glitches still present, this will be a welcome update for the RPG. After a year of silence, though, fans will need to wait slightly longer before they can return to the Commonwealth with better graphics. Are you one of those players waiting? Let us know in the comments below.

I actually forgot they were doing this. Fallout 4 running above 30fps on console sure will feel different.
But another settlement needs my help?
I'm really looking forward to this. I always assumed it would release closer to the Amazon series.
I've been checking for updates on this rather obsessively, so it's nice to just know it's still in the pipeline. So I can stop obsessing, at least until 1st January.
I really enjoyed fallout 4, not sure I can be bothered going back, certainly won't be paying to do so.
I'd be surprised if they don't plan to release it alongside the TV show for maximum publicity.
It has to be along with the TV show right?
Can we be certain playstion will see the next gen update or is it possible they keep it on xbox now they have ownership?
Man I can’t believe they’re bothering. Just do New Vegas! Or even 3, just not 4 😂

Great to hear this is still on the cards. I gave up on my play through once I heard it was announced in anticipation. It's been a long wait!
At least they didn't drop it. I really thought that they did.
@nessisonett Maybe because 3 was flawed and not built for modern hardware so more work and New Vegas, arguably the best 'Fallout' game wasn't made by Bethesda.... LOL
And besides those games aren't on 'PS4' natively to get a PS5 update that is possibly 'free' if you own the game...
Not playing through that slog. One time was enough.
I did like the Nuka-World and Far Harbor expansions, but not enough to get me to play this again. The main campaign’s story was so bad.
@BAMozzy I understand the reasoning, I just think it’s a shame that those games are locked to PS3 and 4 is getting this amount of work put in.
The reason they "need more time" is because they are waiting for the modders to release a boatload of paid mods for that game too
They can cancel it as far as I'm concerned
You know it must be in really bad shape if Bethesda says it's not ready and won't release it.
Happy to hear it’s still happening! Waiting to finish it until the update.
Only cuz the TV show got delayed
I played Fallout 4 on my Xbox with FPS boost and it does indeed feel great to play at 60fps. I don't understand the hate this game gets, I thought it was great fun. Would've loved the V.A.T.S system in Starfield.
Didn't know this was a thing, but i am not sure i want to replay. The settlements feature was super prominent and came at the cost of the open world. Who wants to build dozens of settlements? One is more than enough.
lol l know it's wishful thinking but l was really hoping a psvr2 update might happen for it. skyrim vr on the original psvr was one of the best experiences I've ever had!! pretty please Microsoft, you'll make some money out of it! oh wait, l was forgetting, you don't need it 🤣😭🤨
