The new Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi game has an official name: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. And it's got a full announcement trailer, which features some rather stunning cel-shaded visuals. We're tempted to say that it almost looks as good as Dragon Ball FighterZ — which would be some feat given its fully 3D environments — and we get a peek at a bunch of included characters, some of whom are plucked from Dragon Ball Super.

This one looked wonderful. I know the gameplay’ll be wonky if it’s like the PS2 games, but I didn’t care then and I don’t care now.
Sparking zero sounds like a name you give to a soda drink
@somnambulance The new gameplay is modernized and more streamlined thankfully, It looks to be nothing like the old style which got pretty old and stale, This new style keeps the good parts and adds fluent streamlined mechanics that make the combat flow a lot better and make it a lot more fun and destructive
Perfection 🤩.
I know the starting roster won’t be anywhere close to BT3 (~150), but I’d be be happy with ~70 across all DB media.
Most importantly though we need transformation customisation. SSJ should feel different to SSJ3- it shouldn’t just be a skin.
Looks great, for sure! Just hope they keep all the mid-fight depth, while adding to its polish. Loved the mini games in vs made, to complete your attacks; qte's to hit, button guessing games to counter, etc.
I don't understand, why name it this and not Budokai Tenkaichi 4 instead? Sparking Zero sounds so boring.
@Lukasamba Because the actual name for the series has always been "Dragon Ball Z: Sparking" in Japan, "Budokai Tenkaichi" was likely only ever added to sell the game to western audiences. That isn't needed anymore since Dragon Ball has become so well known and it's not the early 2000's anymore.
@Randinator123 exactly my thought. A bad title, why didnt they stick to tenkaichi 4.
whatever. im all in for this game
Man broly was beating goku down in that trailer 😳
