Elphelt is the next DLC character for Guilty Gear Strive — and she's out today. The gun-wielding fighter could be a menace in previous title Guilty Gear Xrd, so it'll be interesting to see just how dangerous this incarnation turns out to be.
What's more, the game's getting a whole new way to battle in 2024. Titled 'Team of 3', you'll be able to squad up with other players online and fight as a three-player team. Could be pretty cool, especially if you've got a bunch of Guilty Gear obsessed friends.

I honestly think I have to give up on this game. I want to get better at it but most of the time I try to do some combo the dpad just fails to put in the right command(Especially double qcf moves like dauro). So I just rely on the stick but even that isnt consistent all of the time.
I'm excited to have my troupe of Elphelt and Potemkin back from Xrd
@Nepp67 D-pad takes a lot of practice because of how your finger has to roll COMPLETELY off of the down input to get anything done. This includes pressing down too hard on the edge of either the left or right D-pad, since afaik the D-pad isn't split so it often still thinks you're pressing down.
I always just defaulted to analog sticks, as you tighten up your inputs it gets to be largely fine - I got into Celestial more than enough times before I stopped using a PS5 controller
3 on 3?! Nice! I need to redownload this
Can't wait for 3v3. Elphelt is great and all but I'd like Slayer and Venom back too.
3v3 is very intriguing. Will they have assists and team supers or will it be ala KOF one at a time? I guess it can be 3v3 chaos with 6 players on screen at the same time ala smash. I think it would be unplayable though.
@Cloud7794 Yeah the dpad isnt split at all and you can tell when you press on one part of the dpad, the other part goes up. Also is what you are saying that I have to not press down so hard?
@Nepp67 Maybe? I don't know your specific problem unfortunately but for me I just tend to press too hard and not fully get onto the next pad. Like I'll press down, down-right, right but I'm on the bottom edge of the right D-pad, not fully on the center, and pressing hard. Since I would be on the bottom edge, the non-split D-pad would consider my input to still be down-right.
You can see if this is your issue in training mode. Turn inputs on and try to do a qcf special. When it fails, look at your inputs - if it shows [down, down-forward, attack] then it was still pressing down and you might want to change the final position of your finger. If it does show [down, down-forward, forward, button], then the problem would be something else, like maybe the button press was slow.
@Cloud7794 Gotcha, Ill try it out in the training mode, thanks!
@Cloud7794 @Nepp67 Think of your thumb as split into 2. Front and back. The back is the half that applies pressure to the down button and the front does the qcf motion. This is what I figured out after decades of fighting games and it's 99% effective for me.
If it wasn't for the name I never would have guessed it was Elphelt. I prefer her original design more.
Still waiting on Slayer and Jam.
