It's official, folks: Capcom is following up on the fantastic Monster Hunter World with Monster Hunter Wilds. The title got a grand reveal at The Game Awards 2023, alongside a trailer that basically has us losing our minds over the gameplay possibilities.
"Monster Hunter Wilds. The next generation in the genre-defining series," reads the official description.
The only downside is that we'll have to wait until 2025 to play it. We are getting more info in summer 2024, however, so be sure to feel the hype in the comments section below.

I didn't get into Rise nearly to the level I hit World. I'm back to playing it again now. This should be good timing after the light coming year.
That cheeky 6 in the title.
Is it just me or this looks more like Rise than World, graphical-wise?! I wonder if this is also a Switch game.
Never played a Monster Hunter game, but they look decent. This one looks really impressive. Just not sure if the gameplay is for me or not. But i would think this one made a lot of fan’s happy tonight.
@Athrum no its PS5 and Xbox Series game
Just picked up the MHW + Iceborne combo on PC. Will be playing the hell out of it while people are still on it lol.
@Athrum Wasn't announced for Switch. That said, I could see it being one of many announcements lined up for a possible successor console.
Something to look forward to in 2025 along with GTA6.
Looks so sick but 2025 is a long wait. Atleast when it's Capcom you know it's gonna be quality af.
I’m so excited for this. Absolutely loved Rise, and this looks like a huge step up in terms of presentation. Capcom has been absolutely killing it the past few years so I have really high hopes for this. 2025 is still a ways away but I can be patient
Finally, I genuinely hope that this is more of World and not of Rise because of how toned down it was. It turned from a game about tracking down the monster youre trying to hunt to, "Go attack this monster thats on your mini map and that's it."
Gotta thank Rise for finally getting into the MH games so I can look forward to this as well.
Looks like Capcom will be skipping Switch and that's to be expected. Nintendo might want to announce their next gen console if they want that new MH sugar
I still have to continue playing through the 3 mh games I have on 3ds, mhgu on switch, world iceborne and rise sunbreak on PS5. I'm literally drowning in MH content. Can't wait to add another 200+ hour game into my pile lol
of course the one Capcom game that gets announced is attached to the one Capcom series I don't care for XD
While I've personally never been able to click with Monster Hunter personally, I fully recognise just how massive this announcement is and man does it look good from the small snippet we got to see of it. The MH faithful may have had to wait a damn long while for substantial news but their patience has been well and truly rewarded, Wilds looks AWESOME.
I really hope this is good!
So freaking hyped as i adore MH and 1000's of hours in the series.
I need to see the monsters first I’m a bit burnt out on facing the same monsters line up with only 15% new ones.
>no wirebugs
>mhworld artstyle
>no gimmicky bullcrap
Let's. Freaking. Go.
It was only a short teaser trailer but so far everything is pointing in the right direction. Hopefully this is a return to the slow, methodical gameplay that the series is known for. And a step away from the more actiony Rise/Generations style of gameplay. While I enjoyed those games for what they were, they're not why I love this series. I need a MH World 2 and this seems to be exactly what the doctor ordered
Omg finally capcom 😍. I got goosebumps from this trailer. Omg so excited 😆
I've still never been able to get into these games.. but I'm not going to stop trying.
@HonestHick you are missing one of the best game series out there.
World is amazing, large variety of enemies and weapons. Solo can be a good challenge on some. ( and constantly in the sale).
Rise is ‘easier’ for me it doesn’t have the same depth in its systems but it’s a great way to get into MH for newcomers imo.
It’s definitely a series worth giving a go. Nothing better than spending 30-40minutes on solo taking down your first elder dragon.
Played the hell out of MH World and Iceborne, but couldn't quite get into Rise as much, but seeing this has got me hyped enough that I'm now re-downloading Rise on PS5, hopefully people around my rank (4) are still playing.
Wish they had just called it World 2, but I’m looking forward to it.
@Sequel @HonestHick Trust me when it clicks, you won't be able to put down. The gameplay, combat is just superb! Try to learn crafting essential items, focus on the smithy forging new armor and upgrading weapons for you. If you just head out thinking you can win, you're gonna give up and move on to another game.
My most anticipated game for sure, 2025 can't come soon enough!
I have to admit part of me will always love the more bright, quirky, and clunky style of the older MH games as they're so nostalgic to me now.
That being said, World was a phenomenal game and if that's anything to go by, this is going to be crazy good
My Hammer is always ready.
I still haven't played MHW but I got MH4U on the 3ds for 5 bucks and played a solid 70 hours and enjoyed it a ton. I want World but I trying to go through the backlog a bit before I do.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner yeah I’ve really wanted to try them. I will have to pick one and give it a go.
@HonestHick go for world, get the version that has iceborne included (honestly that expansion is bigger than most games alone)
Probably get it all for $30-40 dollars now.
@Terra_Custodes got a few of them on my wishlist to remember to pick them up. 😊
