If this was in TLOU remake I might consider buying it.

Worth it for 10 bucks.

This looks like fun. Wonder if it can be played in coop online like Back 4 Blood. That would be awesome.

To me, this seems pretty clear to be salvaged assets and ideas from their botched multiplayer project. It’s a single player mode, but it reads like it could have been a couple steps removed from something like a MP battle mode.

For me, this doesn’t really interest me, although I loved TLoU2, including the improved gameplay. But without the gripping narrative, it’s at risk to be a soulless shell of the original content.

I’ll buy the upgrade for this but won’t be playing through the main story again for a long time.

@AdamNovice It literally shows at 0:30 that Joel is playable but looks like you’ll have to fulfil some sort of requirement before you unlock him.

Hopefully Vita Girl is playable. Looks fun!

Wonder if trophies will autopop? I want to play through the story again and their new mode sounds like a lot of fun.

When i saw no return i thought they were talking about Sony’s no digital return policy. Ha ha i kid i kid. However they really need to have one, MS does and i have used it on a few games.

This looks so so good, day one buy for me. Wish it was this month but i still have FF16 and Spider-man 2 to finish so i am good there. But man does this look like fun. Naughty Dog is no joke. Yes i would like to see what they are working on next. But i have 0.00% doubt it will be awesome.

All of us want Joel as a playable character. They may not include him at the start but as dlc or update later

I'm personally really excited for this. Kudos to Naughty Dog for adding more to this release. Though not too happy that the trailer had to remind me of RatKing 😑

This headline is so poorly worded that I genuinely thought our good friends over at the Dog had decided to call the game The Last Of Us: Part II Remastered: No Return which makes it sound more like a WWE Pay Per View event. Colon cancer indeed.

Better headline, partly because more people know what a Roguelike is than what the new No Return mode is, so you might even get more clicks. That is partly what you want, right? 🤔😂

@Th3solution Some might say, myself included, that the gripping narrative was explicitly contained within the first game, and if you removed the pretty decent gameplay from the sequel you'd be left with a pretty weak and at times stupidly nonsensical borderline painfully woke story that lacks the grace, elegence and relatability which the first had. Personally I think the first game has and will continue to stand the test of time, whereas the sequel is a product of its time. YMMV

Definitely looks better than the Factions garbage from TLoU, and clearly a much better use of time for the studio! Can't wait!

It could be really decent, if it was a separate thing I would be up for buying it, instead of being tied to a terrible story mode.

No pressure to read it all if you wish not to, but rather than go through it all here it’s fairly in-depth over there on the forums. In particular, toward the end of my review there I write about how the game is often not necessarily “fun” and that Druckmann specifically tried to preemptively set expectations that the game wasn’t designed necessarily to be “fun”. And so my comment here about this new mode was just responding to the fact that the essence of the game for me was the emotional storyline and any gameplay enjoyment was secondary. If you strip away the story and characters, the game is decent, but I don’t know if it’s masterpiece level. But perhaps this new mode has a storyline? So I won’t count it out yet. For those who didn’t like the direction of TLoU2’s narrative then maybe if it does have some storyline then it could salvage the game for you somehow?

You know the gaming world is going in the wrong direction when the best thing these studios can do is remaster their last gen games.. give us a new IP or the next game in a series.. quit wasting time/resources and milking the fan base for every drop of their hard earned $$.. leave PS4 behind for good and focus on at least 40fps - 4K for all games.. they won’t even start filming S2 of TLoU on MAX until Feb 24.. give us TLoU 3 already

@Splat I'm almost 100% sure there are trophies tied to this, Eurogamer just put out a video which shows a trophy popping that is not the PS4 trophy list for the base game. Obviously they might have changed the base game trophies so it is unknown whether it is a DLC trophy i.e. Downgrade some previous gold/silver trophies and add bronze ones for this mode however I don't think that would go down very well with people.

Looks like this new mode will be worth the £10 for me, and is the only part of the package that I'm excited about.
