SPINE is a single-player, story-rich action game that emphasises close-quarters gun fights, aping the aesthetics of Gun-fu movies like John Wick, and it's coming to PS5. We got an impressive-looking gameplay trailer showing all kinds of up-close, stylised mayhem.
Telling a cyberpunk story set in the near future, SPINE takes its name from the augmentation that allows our protagonist, Redline, to boost her reflexes to such insane levels. Developed and published by Nekki, this one was initially envisioned as a team-based action game before reemerging as a story-focused single-player game.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5, SPINE is a fusion of cinematic gunplay and beat 'em up gameplay. Players can dive into the chaos, experiencing the unique camerawork and choreography, playing the leading role in a thrilling action movie converted to video game form.
No release date for this one yet, but we'll be sure to keep an eye out for additional information. We'd love to see an extended piece of gameplay and find out how the game fits together.

Waiting for people to compare this to Cyberpunk
Story rich single player mayhem…color me interested.
......I crave official john wick adaption... And i know it will going to happen down the road.......
Looking good! Kind of reminds me of the Enter the Matrix games from the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube days.
Those were crazy stylish games (for the time)!
@anon_pel222 I love the John Wick movies. It's great to put on and shut my brain off for 90 minutes and just let adrenaline take over. Aso helps that I have a nice sound system!
Nobody is a fantastic movie as well - highly recommend if you've never seen it.
I'm interested for sure. But we'll see how it pans out first.
Looks like fun, but I'll wait for some actual gameplay footage. Anything can look amazing in a pre-rendered video clip.
That said, I always get fed up when devs shoehorn unnecessary multi-player into a single-player game, so it's nice to hear of one that's gone the other way for a change.
This has potential. I'm cautiously optimistic.
Yeah I don’t believe it. Give us full uncut gameplay first.
I have zero interest in this after seeing the trailer.
Kudos for the Chuck!-Reference in the sub-headline!
Looks pretty cool..I love John wick as they are brilliant but I must give a shout out to equilibrium as that was the defining gun fu movie for me oh and hard boiled as well..
Glad to see a developer abandon the tedium of a 'a team-based action game' and focus on a single player experience. More of this, please!
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
I wait until we see the 'real' gameplay in action, looks can be deceiving.
@Ravix This is the movie that me a big fan of Christian Bale. 😁
This looks awsome and no dreaded F2P or GAAS to be seen. 😁👍
Looks intriguing, but something about it feels slightly off. Maybe it’s because the main character is doing all these cartwheels and flying kicks while a roomful of enemies just stand around watching her and waiting for their turn to get beat up. 😅
Yeah I'm gonna need to see gameplay
Reminds me of the movie Bushidō X: Fade to Black. Hope it's not like a turd wrapped in crepe paper.
