A new trailer has just emerged for Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown, and it's probably the game's best showing so far. The Hong Kong-set open world racer has been a long time coming, and it finally looks like it's ready for the road.
The video focuses on a single vehicle — speeding through the city, having its paint job fully customised, then back out to the streets for a rival challenge. It's all in-engine footage and it looks pretty dang good from where we're sitting.
The real question will be in how the game feels. This comes from KT Racing, the team that made a bunch of WRC rally games before Codemasters took over the licence. There's a decent history there, then, and the driving looks good from what we can tell.
Anyway, the game doesn't have a release date yet, but hopefully we'll be spinning up Hong Kong Island sometime next year. What do you make of the new trailer? Tell us in the comments section below.

Fantastic!

@DonkeyFantasy To be fair, both existing games in the series predate Forza Horizon!

Switch release date is the only one I'm after anyway, but this trailer doesn't even mention Xbox family. Are they marketing separately per platform now?
@PixelDragon first Unlimited came out in 2006 and first Test Drive in general dates back to 1987. Goddamn clones and their time machines.😏
@PixelDragon did it not? Oldest I've played is the SNES port of II but it's a fun ride to this day.
PSVR2 support please
Wondering if there will be a performance mode. Based on this trailer and previous footage/streams they’ve shown it looks like 30fps,
the setting automatically makes this dope
@evildave333 in TDU and TDU2 you could buy houses and display your cars, walk around them and stuff, so it's just feature of the series. I think TDU fans would be upset if it wasn't a feature but it's also something you can completely ignore
@evildave333 again it's a feature of the series. Is it necessary? No. Is it fun for some people? Yeah. I've always enjoyed creating displays of my collection on games like TDU, PGR4, and recently Motorfest. Feel free to ignore it, but it's not gonna hurt the game
