Atari and Digital Eclipse have just released a major update to Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration. The Holiday Content Update is now available for free to all owners of the game, and adds a dozen extra playable classics to the already impressive collection.
The 12 games being added include a bunch of extra 2600 classics, as well as some forgotten gems and even some homebrew titles. Here's what you're getting in this update:
- Adventure II (homebrew) 2600
- Bowling 2600
- Double Dunk 2600
- Maze Craze 2600
- Miniature Golf 2600
- MotoRodeo 2600
- Aquaventure (prototype) 2600
- Save Mary (prototype) 2600
- Super Football 2600
- Return to Haunted House (homebrew) 2600
- Circus Atari 2600
- Warbirds Lynx
You can see some of these games in action in the above trailer.
This update was announced last week, when Atari also confirmed that this isn't the last time the collection will be added to. You can expect the compilation to grow even further as more post-launch updates appear.

Oh wow, they threw in a Lynx title too! What a nice early X-mas present. The museum elements and breadth of content really make Atari 50 the high water mark for retro collections.
I fire this up when my brother visits ,we use to spend hours on the 2600 when we where kids ,great memories ,free content is always welcome.
@Amnesiac It really is an incredibly quality collection. I spent so much time with this before I even started playing a single game.
The only one I care about is the Lynx title…something is better than nothing, I suppose.
Does the base game have plat trophies?
@Amnesiac I wish this had way more Lynx games, there's so many good ones.
Would love to have a similar SEGA collection.
@AFCC Atari 50 has a platinum, but it’s a tough one and is sitting at 0.1% earned. Nearly all the trophies are tied to the new reimagined games though.
Liberal application of the word classic
