The PS5 is about to take a trip to Pandora. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora blasts onto Sony’s console on December 7th, thrusting players into the fantastical world from James Cameron’s mega-hit blockbusters. But what is actually in store for players when they boot up this massive AAA movie tie-in? Well that’s exactly what we aim to answer in our latest Push Square video!
From the biomes of Pandora’s Western Frontier to exhilarating flight on the back of your own Ikran, we’ve broken down 38 things you need to know about Ubisoft’s latest. You can check out this video over on the Push Square YouTube channel, and while you’re there, why not subscribe and stick around for more PlayStation video content.
This particular writer is a big fan of Cameron’s sci-fi series, so the idea of a fully explorable slice of Pandora is an exciting proposition. There are of course worries from some that this could be a Far Cry game with an Avatar skin — something we discussed in our Avatar preview — but there’s no doubt that Ubisoft Massive has crafted this open world with love and care for the source material.
What about you though? Are you excited to take a trip to Pandora on December 7th? Or is this just another Ubisoft open-world to you? Let us know in the comments below.

I wasn't sure at first but admittedly I'm very interested in this game now. I loved Pandora in the movies and the prospect of being able to explore it on foot in first person is appealing to me.
Thanks for the comprehensive video! I’m pretty curious about this but have been unsure of what exactly it is.
this game haha... nobody seems to REALLY care about avatar yet it grosses billions of dollars at the box office each and every time. a strange property no doubt but certainly not something that will be remembered or deemed a classic in any sense. this game will bomb. based on the lack of marketing, ubisoft likely feels the same way. you don't release a game in december if you have high hopes for it.
Can’t wait for this game. Can’t believe it’s nearly here 😁
Not fussed on the movies (watched the 1st one amd it was OK, haven't bothered with the 2nd film yet) but could make a decent game and the trailers have looked alright
The movies look really good with the CGI. That was their main gimmick. Will the game just be a less good looking version of that. Probably.
I'll wait and see on this one. Might be a fun jungle parkour, far cry like, shoot and dash adventure of a palette cleanser. It might be a bit of an awkward forced emotional tale.
It's weird we've not really seen more of the story and gameplay being hyped up.
Maybe I'll get drunk and buy it just to see 😁
After seeing the commercial every 2 mins on YouTube I am already sick of seeing this game
