Incredibly, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty launched in March 2023, ahead of the insane cavalcade of games that followed. Developer Team Ninja has been consistently supporting the Souls-Like ever since, and the third DLC pack to date, Upheaval in Jingxiang, is out today on PS5 and PS4.
This new story chapter depicts the forces of the heroic Liu Bei as they attempt to hold back the threat of the Elixir, which threatens all of Jing Province. Upheaval in Jingxiang adds generals like Guan Ping and Lady Mi, fearsome foes and deadly bosses, additional armour sets, and a new weapon category, the Whip. If you picked up Wo Long's Season Pass, Upheaval in Jingxiang is included, but for everyone else, the offering will run you £9.49 or $11.99.
Did you pick up Wo Long at some point this year? Are you on board for another helping of Three Kingdoms combat? Proudly proclaim your heroic exploits before doing battle in the comments section below.

I just stopped playing this game for some reason. I dont know why, definitely need to get back into it though.
@Nepp67 I played the demo and I really enjoyed it. Is it worth picking up the game? The only reason I didn't was that there were other games on my radar at the time.
@Northern_munkey It's a pretty fun time with the combat(It is similar to Nioh 1 and 2), only thing I dont really like about it so far(And this is with every other Team Ninja game since Nioh) is the level design being unmemorable and the annoying loot where it's millions of pieces you collect.
This was my 3rd most played game across all platforms this year. I really liked it, but then again, I am a huge Team Ninja fan.
I really enjoyed this game, played it all the way through. But c'mon man, who is returning randomly to a combat heavy game for a DLC after so many months? I forgot even how to navigate the menu, let alone play the game.
I know some people can return to the game, but for me these late DLCs (GOW Ragnarok Valhalla, Horizon Burning Shores) have no place. It's like I ate a stake at a restaurant, had dessert as well, and after I get home and get ready to sleep, the chef is at the door in the middle of the night saying "hey, I brought you this sauce that will go excellent with your stake sir"
@Petrecis24 Or it's like you watched a TV show and then they released a new season 1 year later...
@Petrecis24 An excellent analogy and the reason I barely care for dlc. The only time it works for me is if Im playing the main game well after release, and the dlc is already available. The sauce is only desirable while Im eating the dinner!
@Nepp67 I'll look into it next time it hits a sale or ends up on extra..
@Petrecis24 Yeah, same here, there's always this threshold with mechanically deep or challenging games, like the DLC expects end-game levels of skill and knowledge. That just doesn't work unless you play a game late enough so the DLC is already available.
It's just another reason to hold off playing games until the inevitable complete edition several years down the line.
@Northern_munkey Utterly fantastic game. Really fun power-fantasy combat, great enemy and weapon design, and decent story. I absolutely plowed threw this game, and I find it tough to finish games these days. Nothing like stopping a dragon dead in its tracks with a sword parry! And alternative opinion to above, I think the level design is great. I definitely recommend it!
Cool.wo long fallen dynasty its a fantastic game.word up son
I was put off of this game by the comparisons to Dark Souls.
But I was huge fan of Heavenly Sword (ps4). Do you think I would enjoy this game?
@Sakai
The Nioh games were so good!
@Matthewnh Dude, Heavenly Sword was a PS3 game! But a great one no less, and one of the few to make use of the controller's gyroscope in game!
I'd say maybe hold off from Wo Long, until there's a sale or something. It's true to soulslikes in its difficulty, which kinda forces you to play a certain way, despite the fluidity and openness of combat. That said, the challenge is offset slightly by having a lot of npcs to help you. But if you're not up for fighting the same boss up to 10 times, before you get the rhythm and timing on counters to perfection, you may find it more frustrating than enjoyable?
@J2theEzzo
Okay. So it is probably not for me, then. Thanks.
@TheCollector316 the Nioh games are exceptional! Glad you enjoyed them aswell.
Ninja Gaiden is one of my all time favourite series also
@Northern_munkey Absolutely worth picking up, if you like this sort of game. It’s got some fresh ideas of its own and some incredibly intense boss fights. Almost feels like a spinoff of Nioh the way Sekiro feels like a spinoff of Dark Souls.
@Jimmer-jammer @ear_wig thanks for the info guys I'll look into grabbing this..
