Sony has today revealed the first line-up of PS5, PS4, and Classic games making their way to PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium for 2024. There are 14 titles in total, and all will be rolled into the service from Tuesday, 16th January 2024. A full list of the games is as follows:
PS Plus Extra: January 2024
- Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (PS5, PS4) | Review
- Resident Evil 2 (PS5, PS4) | Review
- Hardspace: Shipbreaker (PS5) | Review
- LEGO City Undercover (PS4) | Review
- Just Cause 3 (PS4) | Review

- Street Fighter: 30th Anniversary Collection (PS4) | Review
- Legend of Mana (PS4) | Review
- Secret of Mana (PS4) | Review
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and Resident Evil 2 will likely be seen as joint headliners for this month's game update, bringing the spin-off to Borderlands and a fantastic Capcom remake to PS Plus Extra. The former will be perfect for those looking for cheap thrills and fun gunplay while the latter is all about taking things slow in the survival horror setting of Raccoon City.
Quality indie games like Hardspace: Shipbreaker and Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun add some variety, allowing you to repair spaceships and take a trip back in time for some tactical top-down action. For retro fans, you can dive back into the Mana universe with Legend of Mana and Secret of Mana. Trials of Mana is already on the service, so this is more Mana goodness. Finally, PS1 fans can look forward to Rall Cross and meeting up with Jar-Jar Binks once more in Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace.

Nothing on Extra that takes my fancy that I don't already own, which is a pity.
Wonderlands and RE2 are nice pulls but I can’t imagine too many people who wanted them haven’t played them already. Rest is kind of whatever…
I really try not to complain at this time of the month and truthfully I'm usually happy with the selections but this month... by word, really scraping the bottom of the barrel here.
Oh dear, as someone who already owns Resident Evil 2, that’s pretty slim pickings. And I’m trying to be nice.
Shadow Tactics is great.
Don't sleep on that.
I've been meaning to give Tiny Tina a run so that will do me until No Return at the end of next week.
Tiny Tina for me, may try swansong, got other ones I want
I decided to downgrade to Essential when I had to renew last week. Pretty happy with that decision right now.
Here comes the people that complain with their mouths full.
Nothing that stands out to me on a personal level, but that's ok, can't expect banger after banger every single month
The headliner is RE2, but of course like most people I already have it. Still, you can't consider it a bad month with a game like that on the line-up
Finally going to give the mana games a fair shot.
Had held off on Tiny Tina so there’s that at least. Otherwise not doing much for me.
As a kind of Netflix-service I think RE2, TT: Wonderlands and Vampire Masquerade seems quite alluring. Mind you I haven't tried them and are also happy to see my subscription end. I kinda don't have an actively desired backlog of titles even though I have been stockpiling essentials for years.
So, it is sort of 'goodbye and good riddance' to plus. However, I wonder what it will take to bring me back to the subscription-fold. Probably an empty backlog.
Shadow Tactics and Hardship are good additions for me.
If you haven't got resident evil 2 this is a great month. Really wanted to try session so happy with that.
Rally Cross!
I'm so confused on why Sony refuses to add the PSP God of War, Ratchet and Clank, and Jak and Daxter games. They've got the emulator for them and they're 1st party games, they've also missed the 20th anniversary for 2 of them so Sony isn't waiting for anniversaries.
Still no new ps2 emulator, another disappointing month
@get2sammyb I'm stoked for this too. I think I have the PS1 classic on PS3.
Ship space hard breaker!!!! Yep that'll do me. ☺
It isn’t a bad month but I’m still waiting to see the price increase justified, I wouldn’t be so judgmental of the lineup if they didn’t increase the price up to 30%.
@Leechmonger_DeS Yeah, the retro stuff is coming too slowly. Part of me is thankful they've continued to release these; the other part of me wonders why it's taking so long to get them out.
Bought RE2 just after Christmas. You're welcome for my sacrifice
@The_Pixel_King
But that's with every game, every month, every addition. there are always people who already have a game. And if that is added in Extra it is nothing. Okay, logic at its best again. I don't have RE2 yet and I'm happy with it.
@LordOfTurnips Excuse u but just cause 3 was added once on ps now and then added on ps plus and now it's back again on extra, recycling games like this is annoying.
Nope.
I'll try the skate sim as that's on my wishlist, mainly out of curiosity, but even the "headliners" aren't for me.
It's about time they added a couple of PS Studios or bigger third party titles for the new year, it's been a while and they've seemingly removed more than added.
It'd be perfect timing right now as I've kind of fallen off of Hogwarts Legacy and just need something to excite me back into gaming again. Not played anything for over a week now, but I've also not played an extra game for over 6 months, which is kind of just wasting my sub :/
I'll always say if there's at least one or two big ones that I play then it's good value, but for me right now it isn't, unfortunately
Looks for ps1 gems ala Blood Omen Legacy of Kain,Alundta,Lomax,Tomba or Colony Wars,or maybe even some PS2 Classics like the Maximo series....sees the list & sighs inwardly at the current definition of "classics".😔
Would prefer less bargain bin titles, and instead 1-2 new sleeper hit Indies that just wouldn't get the exposure otherwise.
Everybody who wanted to play resident evil 2, has do e so at this point and if not for any reason could buy it under 15€ for sure.
Looks like I'm not missing much for my first time missing a PS Plus Extra drop since my subscription expires next week. And who in the world is picking the Premium games? Like all of the PS4 titles there this month are good but its not that special. And now we only have two PS1 games, that aren't even that interesting. What a way to start off the month
Solid line up, happy to replay RE2 and get the plat for PS5 and tiny tina and shadow tactics sound great as well.
Session. Gnarly.
Star Wars Episode 1 one of the most underrated PS1 games ever, a good month only just for that title.
Guess I'll try out lego city and wonderlands.
I’ve been wanting to give Session and Hardspace a go. I already own Resi 2, shadow tactics, Just Cause 3 and Tiny Tina but I try to look at these monthly games based on the quality of the additions as opposed to whether I personally own them or not and I think its a pretty solid month.
If you absolutely want the most bang for your buck with PS+ the key is to never buy games and then you will almost never be disappointed. If Sony just adds games no one buys every month then it will just be pure crap quality and everyone would still complain.
For people who haven't played RE2 yet, I imagine this is a good month. Unluckily for me, that's not the case. Oh well.
Good month for me, there's 3-4 games there I want to play plus 2 from the free monthly games. So 6 games for £10.99 this month which is not bad at all.
I'm so buying Star Wars next week, been wanting to replay it for many years now.
More of a whimper. In fairness RE2 is very good, if anyone has been remiss not enough to buy it. I had the silly notion they might have gone TLOU Part 1 PS5 remake because Pt.2 is out this month. The PS Plus of old would have.
@LordOfTurnips Indeed, mouths full, but filling those mouths wasn’t for free for them.
as usual people jump into the comments acting like the kinds of games they like are the only good games..... hardspace and shadow tactics are both INCREDIBLE games, if you havent played them then the subscription paid for itself right there. i personally couldnt care less about re2 and yet people think its the only good game on here....expand your horizons people
@man_what It's funny how you say people are wrong for liking only game X and yet you only care for game Y, saying that X is not that good
As tired as I had gotten of the ‘Borderlands formula’, I found Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands to be quite fun and enjoyable. Definitely recommended for any Borderlands or FPS fan. RE2 is also incredibly good and a solid game, needless to say.
An absolute snore fest for people who probably own most of these games.
PS+ is such a poor service and it annoys me that I have to maintain a subscription just to have cloud saves.
Tiny Tina is kinda nice to have back in the absence of access to my main account's IGC stuff it once appeared among, although I have yet to check if the differences are worth another playthrough over the original DLC I'm already looking forward to on Switch. RE2R is great in general but my laptop playthrough is already on the way to the true ending on Claire's side, so I'd have to retrace a whole lot of stuff if I switched platforms now. Now RE3R I'd consider playing in Catalogue indeed. JC3 already completed on Deck, StA and LCU available on Switch... ironically, another killer of a lineup but chances are I will only try Hardspace from it in the near future.
@Colour "but I can’t imagine too many people who wanted them haven’t played them already"
If that logic actually worked, we wouldn't see GTA 5 or Mario Kart 8 in the charts on a weekly basis.
@liathach Spot on. When in the ***** are they going to add tlou part 1? They're too busy trying to sell us part 2 remastered this month the *****.
@LordOfTurnips Because people aren't allowed to comment if the list of games is something they already own or have tried and aren't interested in?
Should we all just shut up and be grateful for anything Sony throws our way?
@__jamiie fans, shutting up? Don't threaten me with a good time.
@saffeqwe i didn't say re2 isnt good, i said its not for me...theres a difference. what I was doing is illustrating that different people get excited about different things
Nothing that appealing. Maybe the mana games. Resi is good but can’t play them outside of VR now. Street Fighter is Street Fighter, if it has II Turbo might have a go for nostalgia.
@nhSnork I don't know why my words went to ****
Disruptor when
I already finished both of the top games but those are good additions. I haven't gotten around to Plague Tale yet from essential and I'm super into Cyberpunk right now so I don't mind having a down month on Extra
For once I’m into Premium cos I really miss those shameless Star Wars movie tie ins!
I've pretty much stopped buying games. So now almost every month has something good for me.
I’m pretty happy with that drop.
@SamMR if only there were 13 other games that are also free for subscribers.
I get that already owning a few games that are free that month can make you feel like your money isnt worth it, but people are complaining EVERY MONTH. And it makes no sense, if you're the type of person that just buys everything you want to play, the service will never be for you and you shouldnt really be complaining about it. (And I dont mean you specifically, just "you" as in anyone who is reading this)
@__jamiie like I already said, if you buy everything you want to play straight up the service isnt for you and you really are just wasting your money. Its not playstation's duty to cater to your needs and if you're like "nah, I already have what I want and the rest is *****" thats a problem with you and not the service.
Also if the only reason why you have the service is because of cloud saves, the monthly selectiom shouldnt bother you as you should only need the Essential tier.
@LordOfTurnips I had Premium expecting the service to be better. I'm not renewing. I'm ****** off because I'm still required to pay a fee for a pointless, Essential subscription just to have cloud saves.
Feel like Just Cause was on plus before.
One game worth having and I already own it. This isn't gonna bring me back. It's a shame, after the strong essential list I was expecting better.
Premium really is a massive con at this point. Massive catalogue of games to port across to PS4/5. I know it takes time and effort to do but I am sure those leaked documents showed that more people are subbed to Premium than Extra....
Superb month for me. Never owned any of these.
I stopped buying games and just wait for them to come to extra.
Then there's no disappointment
Really pleased with Star Wars and Rally Cross but the rest are a bit meh for me which is fine, I get more than my values worth. So many games to play at the moment I could do without adding to my backlog!!!
Nice. Almost bought tiny Tina's in the last sale
all looks pretty good, except just cause 3, pretty sure i got that free on release date, and frankly i just dont like the series.........just cause
@Elodin yeah bo3 muddied the waters for me
@Bagwag82 dude dont say that sony reads this stuff
@bobbycracky lol I doubt it. They never listen to there user base 😔
Thankfully I am no longer subbed and feel happy saving my money for using it in the used market and on Nintendo direct. Sony and Microsoft are just hooking folks along.
