Not only did Konami have Silent Hill: The Short Message to reveal, but it also featured a new Silent Hill 2 trailer for PS5. Combat was the focus of the footage, but it also had a few quick glimpses of puzzles and exploration. Though, perhaps surprisingly, there was no release date attached. All it had to say is the game is "in development for PS5", something we already knew. What do you think of the footage? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Bloober Team remake looking fresh

This is giving me major modern REmake vibes and that is not a bad thing in the slightest; looks pretty good so far honestly!
though if they don't keep the Shiba then what's even the point
It looks more promising than I thought it would. But wth were they thinking with the gun sounds?!
It's looking really good. 🥹 I'm not bothered by no release date. Take more time if you need it, Bloober. There's not many of them, but I'm quite confident this is gonna be an absolutely killer PS5 must-have.
It has a very similar look to RE4 so they are going to have to work hard to make sure it doesn't suffer in comparison.
It looks kinda ok, I was expecting worse from blooper team, but James' animations look a bit odd.
Looked great to me. I assume this will be a Fall 2024 (most likely October) release.
I personally don't like that they prioritized showing off the combat which just makes it look way too actiony. Just a nitpick though, we'll see how it goes in later.
This looks about as rough as I expected from Bloober Team.
Looks great! Looked like they gave the combat that extra dose of PS2 Jank to keep the diehard purists happy.
@RBMango rough? As I said, ps2 original Jank, not so much Team bloober
Bloober Team was not the right team. This looked pretty rough tbh. The combat looked really dated.
The Short Message game looked better than this.
Was i watching the same trailer as everyone else? This needs so much work. Something just feels off. I hope they do a tonne of play testing to round out the rough edges.
@Nepp67 I am going to guess it was to address the criticism that Blooper Team doesn't know how to do combat.
Still needs some polish, but I think it's coming along nicely. Melee combat looks rather punchy, and gunplay is about on par with other Silent Hill titles.
Since there was no release date given, I think there is still plenty of time for nips and tucks.
Silent Hill 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. The remake is looking good but I don’t want to get my hopes up high. I just don’t want to be disappointed if it’s not.
I’m wondering if a certain pyramid shaped headed villain is going to chase you around certain points of the game at random rather than scripted events like the original.
Still cautiously optimistic about this one.
Most of the comments on YouTube are negative, but I think this looks promising. Guess I'm less picky than most people.
Dosnt look great 😅
@zimbogamer Exactly what I was thinking. I wasn't expecting much from Bloober but they really outdid themselves because that trailer and game looks bad.
Tbh, not convinced at all right now...SH2 is one of the best games ever and deserves great remake like RE2/4, but maybe the issue is that I don't believe Bloober team, I think Bluepoint would do better job on this
Do I have s**t in my eyes or did this look awful? PS2 textures and PS3 (at best) effects and hair.
Are people just in a time warp bubble?
Needs work. The pistol sounded like a toy. Animations need work and the graphics need alot of polishing. Others saying it looks downgraded since the first trailer I'm inclined to agree. Needs to be a survival horror not a action horror.
