PS5 exclusive Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is getting a two-hour trial next week, available to PS Plus Premium subscribers. Starting from the 6th February, you'll be able to play through the opening sections of the highly rated action title, which should give you just enough time to get a feel for the game.
Spidey's being added to what is now a decently sized list of Premium trials — but it's still a perk that divides opinion. After all, Premium is the most expensive PS Plus tier, and playable trials that last just a few hours at most don't really feel like a major selling point. A more cynical perspective would argue that you're basically just paying to access demos — although it's worth noting that trials have Trophy support, and all your progress carries over to the full game, should you decide to buy it.
Will you be giving Marvel's Spider-Man 2 a shot through this newly announced trial? Start practicing your swings in the comments section below.

These games trials have been pretty disappointing so far. What PlayStation fan who subscribed to the premium tier of PS+ would need a 2 hour trial of the biggest Sony release this generation to be the deciding factor on whether to buy it? Theres so many more games that would benefit from these types of demos and trials. PS+ premium is a joke.
Rollerdome was on my list to buy eventually so happy with that.
Ridiculous that they lock trials before a paywall. Trials should exist for every game without any need for subscription.
I also noticed today that there is a 3 hour trial for Alan Wake 2. Can’t remember if it was a PS+ premium perk or for everyone. I still haven’t played AW2 so will definitely give the trial a go.
@Casco I had upgraded to premium for the last month of my sub solely for the trial for Baldur's Gate. Without the trial I wouldn't have purchased it, for sure not at full price, cause I really didn't know if I'd dig it. So yeah, even ridiculous for PlayStation's side, as they're kind of locking themselves out of way more of my money lol
Trials have been a nice addition, tried and bought games I would have otherwise skipped.
@Deoxyr1bose Some one open to the idea of buying spider man 2, but didn’t enjoy the first one to instantly drop $70 on the second… Some one also interested in the game but doesn’t care to much about super heroes to spend $70 but may be swayed if they had the chance to test out combat. I could think of multiple scenarios.
Just look at the Japanese Spider-Man2 digital code. You will thank me. It only costs an incredible $4. Besides, it has English voice and subtitles.
@Casco
It is they call them demo's.
@TommyNL and in your infinite wisdom, can you tell me where I can find a demo for Spider-man 2, that is not locked behind a subscription paywall?
Probably many hardcore PS fans have both PS+ Premium and SM2. So this is a cheap move from SIE. Or is SIE disappointed by a low adoption rate of SM2?
I initially read the headline as just "PS Plus Premium Adds Spider-Man 2" and got really excited lol
Y not do this when the game wad coming out
