Sales were likely to be extremely high on the PS Store this December, but there was very little surprise in where fans decided to spend their money. On the PS5, in North America and Europe, first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was the best-selling game. It was also a best-seller on PS4 in North America, but could only manage fourth on Sony’s last-gen system in Europe.
Football games finished second on PS5 in North America and Europe, although it was Madden NFL 24 that took the slot across the pond, while EA Sports FC 24 secured the accolade in the Old World. And, of course, Grand Theft Auto 5 took the third-place spot, despite being over a decade old.
On the PS5 specifically, Baldur’s Gate 3 did well, while Alan Wake 2 charted in both continents. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 and Among Us VR traded places at the top of the PSVR2 sales charts in North America and Europe, while Fortnite, on the back of its massive updates, was also the most downloaded free-to-play game for December. Only unique thing is seeing Baldur’s Gate and Alan Wake get boosts from The Game Awards. Rest is just generic top selling shlop you always see.
Tttttttttrevor! Is this only for online or the campaign?
I'm kinda surprised Spider-Man 2 wasn't even close to beat Modern Warfare 3 considering MW3 reviews...
Not surprising at all. People have the imagination of a melon these days
Depressing as always.
I heard something that re purchasing GTA V gets you extra money in the online? If true these aren't really new players buying but the poor whales buying the game over and over. Kind of sad really
