The documentary charting Hideo Kojima and his efforts to go from establishing Kojima Productions after Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to releasing Death Stranding is now available to stream on Disney+. Clocking in at just shy of an hour in length, the documentary "unveils the visionary mind of Hideo Kojima", exploring "the intricate creative threads that birthed a groundbreaking game and reshaped the landscape of interactive storytelling".
Connecting Worlds can be watched on Disney+ in the UK, Ireland, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Canada, New Zealand, and various European countries. USA viewers will need a Hulu subscription to watch.
Alongside the man himself, the documentary features appearances from Guillermo Del Toro, Lea Seydoux, Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and Nicolas Winding Refn. "This thoughtful film explores the power and potential of video games as an art form through the work of an influential talent revered by millions worldwide."

I don’t have Hulu, unfortunately, but this does look interesting. It’s great press for Kojima productions also.
Gonna check "Connecting Worlds" out as soon as I can. Good timing as I´m reading Hideos book "The Creative Gene" as we speak too (almost finished). Recommend it.
Not yet in Denmark, unfortunately. Will keep an eye out.
How many times will Geoff Keighley watch this?
@Splat Something something Randy from South Park
I was looking for another eason to resubscribe for a month, so that I can watch Bad Batch and Undead Unluck. This will do.
I’m really looking forward to watching this. Looks like I’ll have to free up some time this weekend.
Sweet, really loving a lot of the more niche stuff Disney+ has on the platform of late.
Oh nice, I already have Hulu. I thought I was going to have to get Disney+ for this, but now I don't have to.
@BIG3 How are you liking The Creative Gene? I have it, but haven't started it yet.
Definitely watching this, an eccentric and oft divisive Auteur, but a visionary none the less!
Happy that D+ gets FX shows in Europe. Will be watching Shogun next week.
As for this, Kojima will have to win me over again with his non death stranding projects. I'll enjoy mgs in the meantime.
"This documentary is not like anything you have ever seen before."
-Hideo Kojima (probably)
Does this have any spoilers for death stranding in it?
I'd like to watch the doc but haven't played that game yet.
Not out in Sweden!
Excellent news! Thanks for the heads up 👍
@SlySnake0407 I like it a lot. Using books, movies and gadgets he like and link it do events in his own life is a clever way to get to "know" him both privately and professionally. It also made it easy to see where he got some of his inspiration from. The book is also an easy read. I started reading it 5 days ago and have made it to the epilogue now.
It’s the first strand type documentary
Watched it this afternoon. Little bit disappointed to be honest. Felt like it should have released at least two years ago. Interesting to see how big boss himself works though - a Hideo Kojima production means exactly that. Not as long as I was expecting either, only one hour as opposed to the 90 minutes that was originally stated. I'll probably watch it again though at some point, if only just to watch Guillermo and Norman gush.
@BIG3 creative gene is such a good and insightful read!
Just watched it. Grade A. I love documentaries in general (High Score on Netflix is a stand out). This is really focused on Death Stranding, obviously because DS2 is so close, but it’s beautifully made. I had to pause midway and listen to Patience by Low Roar. Scared, lonely kid has amazing imagination. Totally worth watching. Loved it. Homo Ludens ftw!
