Pretty much out of nowhere, FromSoftware has confirmed it will be debuting a reveal trailer for Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree on Wednesday, 21st February 2024 at 3pm GMT / 7am PT / 10am ET. Featuring gameplay from the PS5, PS4 expansion, it'll be three minutes long and you can catch it on the Bandai Namco YouTube channel.
Originally announced almost a year ago to the day, the DLC is expected to be a significant expansion of the Elden Ring world, and given a trailer will debut in less than 24 hours, it's quite likely the new slice of content will release later this year. You'll be able to catch the trailer here on Push Square as soon as it's live. What do you hope to see in it? Share your hopes in the comments below.

This is the most From thing ever.
Nintendo Showcase and this? Go February 21st!
So our souls might be mended.
Cannot wait 🤩 I hope to see what they’ve done with Torrent. New abilities, mobility options? Otherwise, crazy curious about environments, enemy types, and a glimpse at boss encounters.
I love how they are "cost effective" in their communication. That's the privilege to have a true fan base.
Oh my, it’s actually happening!
I really hope that the trailer contains the DLC's release date and that it's soon (March 2024?). My body is ready to continue journeying The Lands Between.
Got the plat on ps4. I guess I'll have to do it again on ps5 and then play this. Really dont' want to start a new character though.
I can’t believe there’s real news finally let’s gooooooooo fellow tarnished!!!
First time you step out and see the Lands Between and that music starts, Tree Sentinel patrolling, and White Mask Varre mocks you about being maidenless...you feel lost, hopeless - that feeling just can't be explained. Looking forward to this DLC, will probably be their biggest yet.
Omg 😲 3 minutes of gameplay y do I think it's just gonna be the same thing in a new location 😳 😅
@Drago201 Because that is most FromSoft DLC (go into the past and do the same thing). I wasn't the biggest fan of Elden Ring but if the bosses are better designed I may get the DLC.
@Drago201 That's like every major DLC ever lol.
I forgot this game existed
Probably my favourite From game alongside Dark Souls 1. I’d probably wait for a sale for DLC though, never one to return to a game often and there’s actual games I still haven’t played.
Just so everyone is aware, the game is available on PS, Xbox and PC. Not sure why this site can’t acknowledge that this game is available on other platforms. All other websites acknowledge this. It is okay that other platforms exist.
Hoping to see a new class. The Beleaguered Baker who makes plague swords out of French bread batons and who's shield is a giant millstone. 💯 serious about this, no baker no buy.
@cburg Treason! Wash your keyboard fingers off with sand & soap.
Almost time to engage in maidenless behavior again.
It’s been a while and considering the mechanics and difficulty, not sure if I’ll be returning to this one.the mere idea of relearning it all seems quite overwhelming.
@cburg agreed. Or when they call a Ps4 port or cross Gen game only as being a "PS5" title. Ironically No mention of the fact that it exists elsewhere to give the illusion of a plethora of games filling out the PS5 portfolio. When in all reality most game are still essentially ps4 titles (albeit with better performance). Let's be real; native ps5 titles pushing the limits of the console are fairly limited.
Imagine if the mad lad Miyazaki redesigned the whole games enemy placements and scenarios as was done in Dark Souls 2.
I’m so excited right now. This 3 minutes of gameplay is going to be more exciting to me than the ~25 minutes of the Nintendo Direct and I’m a HUGE Nintendo fan. I guess I’m an even bigger Elden Ring fan?
Seriously though, ER is my game of the lifetime. I loved Dark Souls and still do but ER is just special.
@KundaliniRising333 and it will remain that way until the ps4 is put out to pasture I'm afraid. I have no issue with ps4 games being made but I bought a ps5 for native ps5 games and not suped up ps4 games. Cross gen needs to go.
@Isoph0451 Wednesday's gonna be an amazing day for sure.
@Northern_munkey agreed. I totally get the first 12—16 months having crossover. However 3.3 years on and I would really like to see some truly native, built to take advantage of the Ps5, good titles to start coming out.
It's seems like right now the Ps5 is used as a crutch to release less optomized games using ps4 era tech, gameplay loops and visuals; but using the current Gen overhead tech wise to brute force these titles with modest resolution bumps and attempts at 60 fps alongside using the player base as beta testers charged to be so.
Even Rise of the Ronin, Dragons Dogma 1.5, and FF Rebirth look and seem to play decidedly last gen.
Let's goooooo!!!
@cburg *All other multiplatform websites acknowledge this.
PureXbox and Nintendolife do exactly the same. Prime examples are the Balatro article on PX yesterday and the Minecraft DLC announcement on NL. It comes with the territority of being a console specific website. If you want 100% agnostic news then these sites are not for you.
Edit: read the NL article properly and it does mention other platforms. My bad. The PX Balatro one deffo doesn’t though. I read that yesterday and had to google whether the game was on PlayStation.
What cool aid did I miss out on, I love From, I've spent 1000's of hours in Bloodborne, Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3. I did not enjoy Elden Ring, I just felt a heavy heart of dissappointment from about Godrick onwards. The open world stripped the friction of challenge and exposed long standing design flaws (repeated boss design as an example). I wish those excited however, an enjoyable time in the DLC.
I couldn't even make it through the base game. I wish I was excited for the dlc, though.
Allegedly dropping June 21st.
Hopefully the release date is not too far off. This is about the only thing I would drop everything to play. Obviously not a dual sense controller, as those are quite expensive to replace.
