New Star GP, a promising-looking indie racer, is fast on the approach. The F1-inspired title now has an official release date; it's coming to PS4 on 7th March, 2024.
Announced for consoles last month, New Star GP is a retro-tinged, arcadey spin on Formula One action. Despite its colourful presentation and forgiving handling, though, the game seems to have more depth than you'd expect. When you're not on the track, you'll be engaging in various tactical decisions and managing your team and car; taking pit stops, changing tyres, refuelling, upgrading the vehicle, and more.
It looks like it'll be a neat mix of approachable racing fun with some tactical layers to sink your teeth into. We're pretty hopeful for this one, but what do you think? Will you be taking New Star GP for a spin? Do a lap in the comments section below.

Looks like Virtua Racing, might be worth a look.
We need more arcade racers.
@Korra I double checked — it's PS4 only, but obviously backwards compatible on PS5.
Let's hope the rumble works properly on the PS5 b/c, unlike some of the official F1 games.
@Quintumply wait, wouldn't that be "forward" compatible?
@CielloArc yes, it looks exactly like VR. I remember the first time I saw it on arcades... Blew my mind.
Looks like an arcade game but then it has a racing line ?
Arcade racing shouldn't need that
Looks and sounds good (and I’ll probably buy it) but I’m waiting for Horizon Chase 2…
