Sony has confirmed the lineup of PS5, PS4 games coming to PS Plus Essential for March 2024. Yesterday's leak shared Sifu is one of them — which is now official — but now we know the complete selection. All will be available to download and play from Tuesday, 5th March 2024, with the lineup looking like this:

As the headliner for the month, Sifu represents one of the current generation's best indie games becoming available to current PS Plus subscribers. At launch, we awarded the game an 8/10 and shared praise for its combat system, rewarding systems, and excellent presentation. "You'll be hard pressed to find a more rewarding game on PlayStation — especially one that's so visually striking and polished. Some quibbles with combat mechanics aside, Sifu is a knockout."
In the two years since release, developer Sloclap has consistently updated the PS5, PS4 brawler with new modes and costumes to kit your character out in. That includes arena battles, challenges, and gameplay modifiers. There are even new outfits that act as references to the studio's previous game Absolver.

Sifu saves the month!
Sifu is very good but already played it others dont really do anything for me so a dud for me this month but last couple of months havent been too bad so can't complain.
Nothing for me, but a good selection of games! Witch Queen is actually a very good D2 expansion, so if your a lapsed Destiny player something to at least check out!
I'm not looking forward to the inevitable whining we get every time a sports or racing game is added to PS Plus, due to some people refusing to understand that there's a massive market for these types of games.
Brilliant to see sifu on here. It's very concerning that the essential lineup is a lot better than extra lately? Unless you like jrpg's of course. Then you're sorted for the rest of your life.

As always, I will claim all. But Sifu is the only one I will actually play.

Sifu is one I haven’t played which is good. Not entirely convinced by them giving away F1 now, it’s better to give away sports games on PS Plus with a couple of months of the season left. Like if they gave away NBA or FC24 next month I’d get it.

May have to finally run my new fps control scheme with destiny and give it a real go on portal. I’ve tried several times to get into it, it just never sticks, BUT I’ve heard that witch queen is stellar so I might have to just for that.

Was hoping it would be last years destiny expansion. I know it got panned but I'd play it for free on this service. I had previously bought all expansions but finally stopped at the last one.
However as I have always bought destiny expansions, I have always wondered when they put the expansion on, what you actually get. Is it the new base game (as they stole all red campaign from us) and the expansion, or is it every expansion released up to the expansion they are giving out (again minus the ones they stole from us)
Nothing for me, but the access to play online with my friends, as is typical of PS+!
I wanted F123 a few weeks ago, as I am never in a rush to get the latest installment of any sports title, so this is a nice win since I don't do EA's sub. Sifu is fantastic too for those who have not yet had that joy.

Absolutely correct.... Sports games and Racing games are basically what my PS5 is for so the more of them we get the better value I get from my subscription.

I'd agree with you if this was for Xbox because EA play is included with Game Pass but for the majority of people on playstation who don't have it it's a nice bonus

Sweet line up. Destiny 2 continues to be the gift that keeps on giving. Sifu looks interesting enough I'll try it.
@LazyLombax. I know Sony gave us the multiplayer for Ghost of Tsushima, but I don’t t think the base game was ever one of the three games with Essential. You can play it on Extra though.

@TwoDents So Sony actually teaches us: Don’t buy a AA game on our store, because you could regret it when it arrives „for free“ as a monthly PS Plus game. I find that sad for the devs and publishers of these games.
Why should I buy e.g. Robo Cop? If it comes with PS Plus, I made the right decision. If I wait and it doesn’t, then I can buy it for a much lower price. In any case, not buying these games on release is always the best decision. And Sony supports it.

I already have Sifu and not really interested in the rest. However I have so many other games I have bought that intend to play that I doubt I'll have any time for a + game for a while anyway so no worries.
Also definitely recommend Sifu for those who haven't played it. Fantastic game!

You have to remember each person's perspective will be different to your own.
Personally I'd take the games we're getting this March over the games you listed all day long as they wouldn't interest me at all.
We all have different tastes in games, which is a good thing otherwise the world (and these forums) would be a pretty boring place
I already own Sifu and it’s fantastic. As for the other games, there isn’t anything on here that interests, but that’s okay — FF7 Rebirth will be consuming most of my time.

I've tried so many times to get back into D2 after falling off in year 1, but every time I boot it up, the directionless menu/quest overload kills any desire I have. I really don't understand how a GaaS can have such terrible onboarding for new/lapsed players. It's like they're deliberately whittling down their audience, rather than trying to grow it. Oh well - guess I'll wait for Marathon.

As a racing fan I’m very happy about f1 23. I almost bought it two weeks ago when it was on sale.
Sifu and HN2 are on Switch and I have yet to jump on the Destiny 2 bandwagon for getting in touch with all the expansion giveaways, but I may well give F1 23 a go or two.

Great month ,4 games instead of 3 ,as I love my driving and racing games f123 is very much appreciated ,sifu sds alot gd hard fun ,and the other 2 I shall look at as well ,brilliant month ,what's not to like

Another great month for me. Sifu has been on my 'to do' list for a while, Im an F1 and racing fan with no ea sub, and Ive been interested in trying 'Hello Neighbour' without investment since release.

I have to say though, between Helldivers 2 taking all my current time, and just 6 hours till I can play the new FF, its hard to see how I'll make the time! 1st world problems, eh? 😁

Hooray for Sifu, the opposite for everything else in there. One good game per month is all I ask for from Essential, so I'm content.
And I usually redeem every game even if I have zero intention of ever playing them, but I might pass on even doing that for Hello Neighbor 2 out of sheer spite. That's just how much I hated the first game.

I understand that, and I was being quite sarcastic about your comment. However, I think we need to get over the generational dividing line that has defined previous transitions. This is the new normal if we want gaming to stay fairly affordable for enjoyers.

A seriously good racer in F1 23, shame they ignored PSVR when it remains a PC VR game.

Listen, I'm not here to argue semantics and find ultra-specific ways that things won't work. I am also talking about Sony and not Nintendo.
However, here are my crazy thoughts: No longer call them
Switch 1 or Switch 2 games but just Nintendo Switch games without the generational distinction. The same game can go in either system, and depending on the system you have, unlock more advanced features like frame rates, ray tracing, or lighting modes. Think Apple and how iOS works. Eventually, the legacy console would age out of being compatible with new games and force you to upgrade if you want to keep playing.
Manufacturing, development, shipping, and marketing would now be one cost over multiple generations. Not to mention how much stronger the install base would be for every game. And as long as you are cool with fewer graphical features you aren't forced to upgrade until necessary. Also, people on the cutting edge can still get the new system and be all elite about themselves.
I am not an expert, but it seems the current model is not working as well as it did in the past and something has to change or we are going to see a great big crash like we did in the 80's.
Pretty solid imo, will definitely add Sifu and F1 into my library

Both F123 and Sifu are on my wishlist, so this is gonna save some money They'll both end up in the backlog for a bit but nice to add them both now!
Not at all my kind of games, but I guess it's one of the better months for PS+ in a while. Racing and beatem ups aren't really my cup of tea and expansions to live service games aren't really that interesting so far after release.

@Fishface45 It's one of the sim-type games. I am also only into the arcade racers, because I crash a lot lol. As far as I'm concerned no arcade racer will ever top Split/Second.

I tried the F1 car on PSVR2 (GT7) and was exciting and terrifying at the same time Would be nice to have the F1 game on VR too...
Sifu is an absolute brilliant game. But I already bought it and played it.

Brilliant month again. Can't believe how much value I get out of PS+ and Extra . Haven't got enough time to play them all . Only just began Ghosts of Tsushima this week , what a belter of a game.

I will probably give sifu a go reading the comments. More looking forward to Foamstars going unclaimed for Sony's statistics as what not to give for free and waste development time on.
Sifu looked way too frustrating for me. I like hard hards but not ones that are absurdly hard at the expense of fun.
I have been happily satisfied playing PS3 and PS2 games that I can get for a fraction of the cost for current Gen games. Also been buying games on steam and gog for cheap as well. I think the current Gen is stagnant and very bloated cost wise. I personally don't have a desire for a PS5 in its current state.
